The Dutch should have been playing a man down since the kick to the midsection of Pique in the first half. That should have been a straight red on Holland.

Had it not been the World Cup Final, I think it would have been a straight red card. Given the importance of the match and the fact that it was clearly unintentional, I think it was the correct decision.

Actually the kick was to Alonso, not Pique.

Unintentional has nothing to do with this dangerous play. Nothing more dangerous than two players moving to the same space with intensity and one having their cleats up that high. He should have never had his cleat up and it should have been an automatic red card.
