CHICAGO -- The Rev. Jesse Jackson says Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert sees LeBron James as a "runaway slave" and that his comments after the forward decided to join the Miami Heat put the player in danger.
I can’t think of anyone who gives a damn what Jesse Jackson says.
Jackson views himself as a Harriet Tubman. He’s just jealous James didn’t seek him out as an underground agent on the Plantation transfer.

Jackson making mountains out of molehills. It’s getting harder for him to find any racism, so he makes a big deal out of something minor. Gilbert is entitled to his opinion, even if it smells like sour grapes.

Dan Gilbert has pissed off Jesse Adulterer Jagmo? He gets a thumbs up for that act alone!
Of course there are nutcases out there.Unfortunately if you're rich and/or famous you're in danger in this country *because* of those nutcases.But *this* comment,IMO,doesn't put James in any more danger than would the owner having said "only sissies wear the sneakers James does"..or something like that.
Not even George Steinbrenner ever spoke as thoughtlessly as Dan Gilbert. In a well run sports league he would get a stiff suspension.
Suspension? Perhaps.But the thing I'd be most afraid of if I was the owner is that black players would refuse to play for my team.And,IMO,that could very well happen.Time will tell.
