Armed Escorts to Accompany New Mexico Livestock Inspectors
Fox News ^ | 7/16/2010 | Joshua Rhett Miller

It will mark the first time armed deputies will travel with New Mexico Department of Agriculture inspectors, who certify the scales used to weigh livestock, Luna County Sheriff Raymond Cobos said.

"These scales that the ranchers use to ship their cattle are in isolated areas," Cobos told FoxNews.com. "And the administration decided since those inspectors and personnel are not armed, they wanted to be able to concentrate on their work without worrying about their security."

This sounds like the kind of intimidation 0bama did when he had armed escorts for abortionists.

He’s trying to paint the good guys as wackos.

They need to post deputies for all of the cattle guards out in the west too. Some of them are very isolated.

This makes more and more sense.
2 million government elites employees.
Lording over Serving a population of 300 million.

The vassals need to be disarmed,We need gun control, the wardens and employees of the tyrannical police state benevolent government need to be heavily armed in case someone should happen to disagree with them.

Is this a border county or a route used by illegals?

Luna is way down in the southwest corner of NM, bordering Mexico. Imus is up in Santa Fe county, maybe 225 miles north of Luna county.

This is indeed a border county, and that no doubt is the reason for the armed guards. Although Don Imus is looking pretty much like a deranged street person these days, and I wouldn't mind an armed guard if I had to be around him.

Well, he is courageously battling cancer, as he reluctantly reminds us from time to time.

Personally, he reminds me of a worn out Nocona boot stuck on a fence post near Datil.

Meanwhile, the ranchers are left swinging in the wind with even less protection (with the deputies being tied up being bodyguards)while these inspectors get armed escorts.

Typical government response. Protect itself, and screw the people.

Illegal activity, such as human and drug trafficking, has "pretty much been shut down" in Luna County since 2005, Cobos said, but he acknowledged the "big potential for violence" at any time.

Buried way down in the article it finally gets to who the threat is. Illegal aliens.

"Our concern is if we interrupt any [illegal] activity," Gomez said. "I really care about [the inspectors]. I don't want anything to happen to them."

Yes, we have to protect those inspectors who go out there once a year. Tough luck for the ranchers and others who live there year around.

"We're pushing for it so that it's not going to be just this year," he said. "We'd like to see it until activity settles down a little bit along the border area."

With no action from the 0bammy Feds to secure the border and active opposition from them against the states securing their borders when will that activity "settle down a little bit?"
