Unfortunately, the front-runner in the race is a Big Government Republican, state Sen. Diane Black, who consistently votes for budgets that exceed the state constitution's legal spending limit and for higher taxes (nearly $500 million in tax increases in the last few years). She also has voted to give drivers licenses to illegal immigrants, spoken in favor of amnesty for illegal immigrants with "anchor" babies, and tried to exempt the two counties in her state senate district from a new tough anti-illegal immigration law.
Kerry Roberts (www.kerryroberts.com) is the real deal - a conservative business owner who also is a Certified Public Accountant. When you need to clean up a budgetary mess you don't call a politician - you call an accountant. And when the budget mess has been made by career politicians, you certainly don't send a new career politician to Washington.
