GOP Candidate for NY Gov Calls for Mosque Inquiry
newsmax ^ | Tuesday, 20 Jul 2010 06:45 PM | newsmax

The Republican candidate for governor of New York says his Democrat opponent, Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, is playing to his liberal voter base by refusing to open an inquiry into plans to build a mosque near ground zero.

Rick Lazio has called Cuomo an incompetent attorney general and says he has not received a response from Cuomo's office to his July 7 written request for an inquiry into a Muslim charity that plans to build a community center and mosque in lower Manhattan.

No funds have yet been raised for the proposal to replace a building damaged on Sept. 11, 2001.

Cuomo says that anyone who has evidence of wrongdoing should send it to the office and it will be reviewed.

Lazio accuses Cuomo of siding with a liberal view after years of making headlines by accusing big business of wrongdoing.

Why in the world are these liberals pro-muslim?

Don’t they realize what will happen to them when the caliphate is a reality?

Or are they so blinded by hatred of anything “Conservative” they will support even jihadis?

I don’t understand your criticism. So what if he requested an investigation last week or Monday? Better than only one request. Cuomo, Blumberg, and others don’t seem inclined to ask the hard questions. Why? Don’t you want to know?

I am less concerned about that then I am about Little Ricky Lazio running as the GOP pick for NY governor....

He is so weak and lame, even Andrew Cuomo is simply ignoring him

The is more about the lame-o candidate (Lazio) that the GOP leaders hand-picked

Instead of the TEA party favorite Carl Paladino

What is his powerful response to the mosque at ground zero? He ‘calls for an inquiry’

um...ok Little Ricky

Thats what we need, a policy wonk.

Who is going to conduct an ‘inquiry’ and what are they going to do about it/ Months and months of hearing while the stupid thing is being built? Politicians posturing for the cameras is NOT what we need.

Pull the permits and prevent one-single shovel full of dirt being turned over. Get the TEA party to hold a rally there (bring your pet pig).. Do SOMETHING other than ‘call for an inquiry’

Every avenue for shutting this thing down is being explored. Calling for an inquiry is one of them. Don’t you want to know who is funding it? You must be interested in finding out what terrorist ties there are, right?

I’ll go in with you on the pork products, but the Imam will come out, do a little ceremony and wipe away the evil infidel pig. No ceremony can wipe away terror ties.

There is also, a movement to get the sites declared as “historic”, which means they couldn’t build.

"Why in the world are these liberals pro-muslim? "

Because that's the anti-American position. Need I say more? Maybe because of BHO's heathen religion?

In Andrew Cuomo's case, he knows Obama's position regarding the Muslims, and Cuomo has always taken the politically opportune position (as it appears to him) to ingratiate himself with the "in" crowd.

In Bloomberg's case, - he's just weird.

Doesn’t matter who wins, New York State is still going to be in the poorest shape its ever been. Republicans up there are not really Republicans at all. The most conservative in the state is a moderate leftist at best.

Why are they calling him “the Republican candidate for governor”? Paladino is on the primary ballot.

He can gut it but they’re not going to pass it. Look what they’re doing to the current Governor when he tries to implement even the smallest cuts.
