North Korea said it would counter U.S. and South Korean joint naval exercises with “nuclear deterrence” after the Obama administration said the government in Pyongyang shouldn’t take any provocative steps.

Obama has replaced "Res Publica" with "Quod licet Jovi non licet bovi."

'Evidently Mr. Ringo's an educated man.'

Doc Holiday has to be a classic American character.

I wonder how much of his legend is true?

“He is speaking in Latin. Now I really hate him.”

Maybe we can get Zapp Brannigan (From Futurama) to take over for Lil Kim.

“Now, like all great plans, my strategy is so simple an idiot could have devised it. On my command all ships will line up and file directly into their cannons, clogging them with wreckage.”

True, but what country are you talking about? If it’s North Korea, I doubt they would last very long. I don’t see the US jumping into a war with NK right now either.

Amateur history geek here. It was less off the mark than Hollywood usually is, but it was a bit overly sympathetic to the Earps. In fact- there weren’t really such clear-cut good and bad guys.

Fred the Sheriff was in fact shot by Curly Bill, but lived long enough to testify in Bill’s behalf at the trial. Fred wasn’t that old, either.

Ike Clanton’s great great grandson lives in Tombstone last I heard, and is something of a celebrity there. Not sure, but I don’t think that Holliday was quite so well educated, either.

Lots of other details are historically wrong, but the essential framework of the story isn’t too far off. It got me to go read up on it, anyway. :-)

One thing I am sure of in that movie - the roa to riches wasn’t mining, it was Selling to miners.

Selling them anything.

The local saloon owner made a good deal of money too - but probably didn’t live very long to enjoy it!
