President Barack Obama, the honorary chairman of the Boy Scouts of America, will not speak in-person before the group on Wednesday at Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia, as part of the organization's 100th anniversary celebration. However, the president is sending a videotaped message to the scouts for Wednesday, the same day he will be in Manhattan to tape an appearance for ABC TVs talk show The View.

White House vs. Boy Scouts, Part 1
Posted: June 21, 2010
(Editors note: This is Part 1 of a three-part series on the White House and the Boy Scouts. In Parts 2 and 3, Norris will not only give further proof concerning how the Obama administration is creating an arms-length relationship with the BSA, but show how President Obamas advocacy of the BSA compares to the past 100 years of U.S. presidents.)

I’m thinking, “GREAT LEADERSHIP”. </sarcasm>
One can only hope that Elisabeth Hasselbeck gets in a few good questions.
“Mr. President, why are you engaged in open class warfare?”
Agreed 100%. Keep him far away.
Ping!
why does this not surprise me
My grandson is there now and his EagleScout Brotherhood Order of Arrow Grandfather is relieved Obama is not there!

Our son is real close to earning his Eagle Scout Award. Wants to do so this year, 100th Anniv. and all. Centennial Eagle.
I’m not so sure I want him to finish while 0 is the “Honorary President of the BSA” and his certificate is “signed” by the _resident.
Of course, it’s our son’s call.
He doesn’t live or personify the Boy Scout oath and hence does not belong among them let alone be an honorary leader.
On behalf of Boy Scouts around the world, “Thank you.”
Hanging out with the “gals”.....what a wuss.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck should dump the show and go address the Boy Scouts. She has more patriotism in one strand of her hair that Zero has in his whole body.
And the boys being boys wouldn’t mind seeing her at all!!
He doesn’t want to piss off his gay constituency.
who in the hell would want him to speak? let the clown go on the view with the rest of them!!!
So typical of “The Kenyan”.
Everything America holds dear, he wants to destroy.
I saw her in person in 2008 when she appeared with Sarah Palin in Kissimmee, FL. She is unbelievably HOT!
(the pronoun in that last sentence is purposely ambiguous)
As far back as July 6th, it was already a given that Obama wouldn’t be at the 100 year anniversary. See Chuck Norris’ article http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2547560/posts
The comments after the article are very interesting and enlightening. The general concenses is that he would not be welcome at the gala; one said that no Eagle Scout awards have been signed by him since taking office; another said there have been “mechanical” signatures; one said (#26) that a request was made to George W. Bush, who sent back a very warm letter.
This is good news for the boys at the Jamboree
... exactly so!! Zero is so far removed from the Scout Oath/Laws that it would be a huge disconnect for the SissyInChief to show at a campground anyway... back to the Wagyu beef in the White House...
Our only regret is the Eagle Awards in this 100th year will have to be signed by Obozo, including in our household....

Our son is real close to earning his Eagle Scout Award
... same issue here, but we think the 100th year special cert will hopefully make up for the bogus/unqualified/usurper signature on the document. I’ve heard Zer0 is so busy with WH parties that the signed certs are running 7 months behind.
Wish my Life could have been at the 100th year Jambo though...
