Scientists say soot a key factor in warming
SF Chron ^ | 7/28/10

Posted on 07/28/2010 10:31:13 AM PDT by Bulwinkle

The evidence of mounting pollution by carbon particles in soot has been inadequately counted in international government debates over policies to cope with the warming problem, according to Stanford's Mark Z. Jacobson, leader of the university's Atmosphere and Energy program and a professor of civil and environmental engineering.....

And because soot absorbs sunlight as it falls on ice and snow and radiates back to Earth from clouds and layers of the atmosphere, it is the major reason for rapidly melting sea ice in the Arctic region, he said.

Soot is man made. Man made global warming has been debunked.

And these folks call themselves scientists?

“Next year the same guy will be saying soot is causing global cooling.”

They have already said that. The soot supposedly causes global dimming. I’m not making that up!

Check this ‘documentary’ out.

If soot causes global warming then why doesn’t volcanic ash heat us up instead of cooling us down?

Most of the fires these days, except for the wildfires, according to the site, are agricultural or charcoal manufacturing. They have near burned all the trees in Africa and the Amazon trying to keep warm and eat.

Odd we never hear about that.

BULL$HIT! Scientist = Quack. You can’t believe anything these so-called scientists say. Next year the same guy will be saying soot is causing global cooling.

Back in 1976 they were saying exactly that, that the earth was in danger of a new ice age from soot blotting out the sun.

I hate to rain on anybody's parade, but the ice extent in both the Arctic and Antarctic aren't doing what Al Gore says they are. Don't listen to media people, go straight to the data and look at it for yourselves. As Glenn Beck says, "Go to original sources, read, and form your own conclusions":

I can remember back in the 70’s, soot caused global cooling because it would block the sunlight.

There have been peddlers of doom for all of time.

professor of ... environmental engineering.....

We have a couple of them at the other end of my state who made the news.

They built a custom solar enegry Green House.

Since they had Basketweaving doctorates, they forgot about the Sun's declination changing with the seasons...

And had to murder dozens of trees because in Fall or Winter, their SOLAR PANELS were in the shade.

At least it got into the papers.

may be responsible for as much as 94 percent of Arctic warming

Prove it, otherwise stuff it.
