Man those were heady days when the labor unions rose up to smite the damn communists.
And yes, I would wear a solidarity button even today.;
I’d wear one if the Chineese folks rose up again like Tien men square days too.
My grandpa was there 66 years ago - it was sometimes terrifying to hear his memories from that time. But also I felt so proud that my grandpa was a part of this history - they shown to Hitler (and Stalin) that it is better to die standing than to live on the knees.
