A Month in the life of George W. Bush. August 2005 (News and Photos)

August was always the month, when President Bush went to his ranch in Crawford, but unlike the current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, President Bush worked during his vacation, as you can see in the photos

I hope you all don't mind if I could change the subject, but I have more new photos to cheer things up around here. We all could use some upbeat news.

First off, here are various photos of President Bush during his two-week vacation in Kennebunkport. By the way, he's now back home in Texas.

These biking photos were taken between August 13th to August 20th.

The following 5 photos are of Bush visiting the Kennebunkport Bicycling Company on Monday, August 23:

All of these photos are courtesy of Cyndi Smith via Facebook

Three bonus photos of GWB and Laura posing with military families at the Run For The Fallen event in Cape Elizabeth, Maine on Sunday, August 22:

And finally, I found a photo of GWB in a rather "interesting" outfit taken at his Crawford ranch. This was posted on twitter.com/totalfratmove today. Don't know when exactly this pic was taken.

THANK you once again for the smile on my face as I look through these pictures. Between this morning’s fantastic event with Glenn, and the closing of the day with George...life was really good today. Thank you for your contribution, patty!

WONDERFUL pictures, pattyvita! Thank you so much for all your sleuthing to find great photos. I love seeing pictures of GWB posing with "regular" people. That "half full" shirt cracks me up! How fun to see his initials and time up on that board. Great pictures!

Thanks again!

New articles and pics on GWB and family:

After they left Kennebunkport last Thursday, President and Laura Bush traveled straight to Minnesota to raise money for their future library. This tidbit appeared in a Minneapolis Star-Tribune column:

"A quiet Bush visit"

Not a tweet on Twitter from former First Lady Laura Bush about her trip to Minnesota last week.

Mrs. Bush and former President George W. Bush were at the Twin Cities home of POPPcom telecommunications owner and CEO Bill Popp and his wife, Teri.

W's appearance at Popp's was to raise money for the former prez's presidential library, I'm told. George and Sally Pillsbury were spotted there.

Hey, Mrs. Bush: The reason I follow interesting people on Twitter is so I can track their steps into and out of Minnesota. There were no tweetable moments from your time here?

President and Mrs. Bush visit Minnesota

Well fortunately, I have the pic to prove it! This is courtesy of Joe Meyer via Facebook:

President George H.W. Bush (41) was in for a real treat on Friday when he met Taylor Swift during the taping of her TV special for the CMT network in Kennebunkport, Maine. Taylor Swift happened to film her latest music video there as well.

Laura Bush doing another book signing at Books-A-Million and at Heritage Christian University in Florence, Alabama on Saturday:

And finally, fashionista Barbara Bush poses in a belt and bell-bottoms ensemble in the September issue of V Magazine that will come out this Thursday. This supposed to showcase her and several other young women in the New York society scene about the interests and careers they're pursuing. She is quoted as saying, "One of my Texas friends, her mom literally wears this look every day." Hmmm...looks like Barbara is mimicking her father in ranchwear, don't you think?

Thank you for the pictures. At the same time I get depressed looking at them and the present reality that we are living in now.

I hope “my peeps” in Minnesota...oh...what a WONDERFUL place to grow up (but too cold to live there anymore!) - such truly nice and decent people. My upbringing was like livin’ on the “Little House on the Prairie” —it was like a TV show about family and goodness. I’m so glad our dear President and his Lovely First Lady were there. God Bless the Bush’s and continued prayers for VP Cheney’s health and his wonderful family too.

THANK YOU for your beautiful prayers and kind words — you have uplifted my soul at a very difficult time!

The following poem was found handwritten in Mom’s bible. I hope it touches you as much as it did my family and me.

WHAT GOD HATH PROMISED

God hath not promised
skies always blue
flower-strewn pathways
all our lives through.

God hath not promised
sun without rain
joy without sorrow
peace without pain.

God hath not promised
we shall not know
fail and temptation
trouble and woe.

He hath not told us
we shall not bear
many a burden
many a care.

But God hath promised
strength for the day
rest for the laborer
light for the way.
Grace for the trails
help from above
unfailing sympathy
undying love.

Prayers are with you for the loss of your Mom, something most of us can understand.

The poem you found in her Bible is very poignant and it also speaks of what a gentle and spiritual being she was.

Little treasures like that are so meaningful..

Blessings, etabeta
