WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) -- A lesbian cadet asked to resign from the U.S. Military Academy because she said she can no longer lie about her sexuality and was troubled by the anti-gay attitudes of some around her.

Katherine Miller of Findlay, Ohio, also said she wants to fight for repeal of the "don't ask, don't tell" law, a subject she was studying and writing about as a sociology major at West Point.

Dyke first, soldier second.

Not what we need in the military.

Let me guess. She’s leaving to become Elena Kagan’s personal assistant?

My first thought as well. They should be studying Clauswitz not “Men Bad, Women Good.” IT’S WEST POINT.

"She’ll have to pay back the money the Academy spent on her education."

No, the first two years are free if you elect to not start your third year. At the beginning of your third year - at all the service academies - you have to sign a contract, which obligates you to active duty, for a period of no less than four years. If you wash out after signing that contract, you may have to repay the government or actually fulfill your obligation as an enlisted man (or none of the above), depending on the reason you fail to graduate from the service academy.

Democrat policy-Find one in a million, make them out to be a victim and sell them as normal. then change laws and mask it as bringing justice for the oppressed. And to think for a long time a lot of Americans fell for that.

I got in touch with my feminine side once and found out I’m a lesbian.

I suspected I was one back in my teens, when I couldn't stop looking at girls.

"When the hell did The Point begin to offer a Sociology major? "

Decades ago - technically I think they call it "Behavioral Science". But, like all degrees at West Point, it's a BS, not a BA. You still have to complete core academic requirements that are math and science intensive. The Naval & Air Force Academies are the same, I believe.

It's not a secret, however, that all the Academies lowered their academic & and physical rigor and demand when they started letting women in, and started heavily recruiting minorities to satisfy affirmative action goals. That's not racist or sexist, it's just the practical reality.

I believe the cadets carry what would be called “double majors”. They all must take the required engineering curriculum, but can carry another major also.

Some semesters they are taking as many as 7 academic courses, in addition to the military courses they are required to take. It is one tough load.

Good!

Take your nasty, deviant lifestyle, and find another forum to try and normalize this sick behavior.

These folks know they’re engaging in a abnormal bahavior. We know this, because they don’t just want acceptance, they want approval.

Sorry, but many of us will never give you the approval you crave.

So, she's troubled by the anti-gay attitudes of some around her ~ and I imagine she believes she's invisible.

Don't those people know they are supposed to LIKE her lesbianism! (Hahahahahaha ~ I don't even know her and she's already leading me to dislike her with all that whining and catterwalling).

FWIW, the cadets all graduate with a basic engineering major, and in addition to those courses they can specialize in something else.

My son, graduated in ‘90, chose International Relations as his “second major.

His junior year was a real killer. In addition to all the military courses, he had 7 full credit courses, in engineering and his specialty. They haven’t slacked off on the academics at all, contrary to what some think.

Some of the physical education requirements have been adjusted for women, but the women still have to most of everything the men do. Boxing, for example. I don’t think the women take that, but take some kind of karate/physical defense course that is equally tough.
