East Point is a suburb of Atlanta near the airport. Local news has reported that there are only 655 Sec 8 units in East Point. The waiting list had been depleted so East Point handed out applications yesterday for the waiting list. No units are currently available. It may take as long as 10 years for people to get off the waiting list. The waiting list last opened approximatey 8 years ago. People started camping out more than a day before the applications were available. Applicants came from all over metro Atlanta as well as from other states. East Point officials said that yesterday was a success because there were no serious injuries and no arrests.
I tell you this, I sure as hell wouldn’t want to have rental properties in Atlanta.
Supposedly Section 8 is optional for landlords, but I bet that will change real soon, when denying a Section 8 voucher holder will get you sued for discrimination.
Articles like this are so overhyped.
The title says “RIOTS ERUPT” and then the first words of the article are “A near riot” and then later it says “a riot nearly took place.”
I clicked on the video of a HUGE crowd with hands reaching out to get applications for section 8 housing but I did not see the riot or near riot. Some pushing and grabbing but that’s about it.
The only injuries were heat related and I have seen no mention of any arrests.
I’ve seen worse at those discount wedding gown sales.

In a few days the unheeding Obamas will be in Martha's Vineyard land of wine and roses while their restless base will be getting closer to plucking the grapes of wrath.

Some of the early reports were saying only 1,000, but as soon as I saw a pic of the parking lot I knew there was way that the number could be anywhere near that low. That place was friggin’ packed!

More than once I have had to either stand guard over a mailperson that brought the “entitlement” checks a couple days late or wrote a report about an assault on one. When they stop coming all together, these folks have no back up plan and will immediately go into “take it” mode.
Now multiply what you see in the picture several times in magnitude and use the scope of every major and medium city in the US. Local, state and federal government will not be able to keep up with the demand for food and other necessities and cities will burn.
I urge anyone living in a city with a significant amount of section eight residents to have a plan to get out immediately. Have a well stocked retreat if you can manage it because it will most likely will degenerate to house to house searches for food and what ever “opportunities” that arise.

True, but 95% of them don't vote (D) consistently, AND, they don't get any special laws passed that identify them BY RACE and EXPECT OTHERS TO SUPPORT THEM AND PROVIDE FOR THEM FOR THE PAST FOUR GENERATIONS.
Denial of that fact is the basis of Affirmative Action, etc., that SPECIFICALLY target a voting block, and protect them from being confronted verbally (it's a "racist", and/or, a "Hate Crime" to address the issue)

Section 8 housing has been tightening up and the waiting list is into the future. This was bound to happen due to the never-ending cycle of dependency on other peoples’ money.
The dems started this years ago — had to know what the outcome would be — and of course their solution is to throw more money at it while screaming that Republicans want to starve and make homeless.
