Sen. Schumer: ‘Sour’ electorate reluctant to give Dems credit (No, Kidding???)

Sour” voters reluctant to award Democrats for their legislative success are one of the reasons the party is trailing in the polls, according to Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.).

But Senate leaders will keep trying to change that with a jobs-based September agenda, the Senate Democratic Conference vice chairman said Thursday. Asked why the Democrats are still expected to lose seats in November after passing major bills like healthcare reform, credit card reform, a fair-pay act and Wall Street reform, Schumer said voters are frustrated and don’t feel the effects of the legislation.

“It’s the world we’re in. It’s a much more negative, critical world, and people are sour now,” he said. “The thing they’re most sour about is the future, not the present. In other words, if people were sure that things would be better five years from now, they’d be less sour.

“Given that, I think people are more negative right now across the board — the right wing is more negative, the left wing is more negative, the center is more negative. That’s how it is.”

Jobs and an improving economy are a major campaign issue for the Democrats. The White House has joined in on the effort, emphasizing a “recovery summer” agenda designed to reassure voters about the economy.

That effort may not be paying off, however. A NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll out Thursday found that 60 percent of those polled believe Congress is either below average or among the worst in history, which is an all-time high. Plus, 64 percent think the economy hasn’t hit rock bottom yet.

Credit? I give them all kinds of credit.

Credit for destroying our economy.

Credit for the continued dismantling of the Constitution.

Credit for weaking us in the eyes of our Enemies.

Credit for being the pussilanimus scumbags that they prove themselves to be time and again...

Problem for Chucktheschmuck is that the dems are getting credit.

Credit for the destruction of our economy, diminishing our military power, and causing our allies to label us unreliable.

Shumer is wrong on both counts.

The electorate is not "sour"; it is sober.

The electorate does credit the Democrats with destroying the economy.

While UpChuck is delusional, I wonder how many people remember during the election campaign that Obama touted time after time after time: "I have a plan for that!" and told people to read the plan on his web site. If he had the sound plans he touted, he either did not follow those plans. In which case, the electorate should defang him by firing every Democrat they employ. If he followed those much touted plans, they were not sound plans and the electorate should compensate for Obama's (and the Democrats (or in UpChuck's case, the De-moan-crats) by firing every Democrat they employ.

The electorate did give the Democrats credit--and they rang up the limit on the nation's credit card. They should all be fired.

If I’m going to be handing stuff out, it’s going to be a bit more on the “blame” side rather than on that of “credit.”

Translation:

The electorate is not as brilliant, all-knowing, really really smart, educated and elite as those of us in the Democrat party. We love to legislate and dictate the agenda to a dangerous, ignorant, knuckle-dragging,
bible-thumping electorate. Ya know?

We havent seen the Effects of the Legislation yet? HUH?
triilions of more Dollars Spent ,Taxes ready to skyrocket,Unemployment going up,Billions more in Unemployment,Food stamp registration at all time High,Unemployment is the Way to stimulate the Economy,Seniors can no longer find a Doctor.
What have the Democrats offered as a Solution, spend more money on unemployment checks, pay the Mortgages for the unemployed so they will stay that way, soak the rest of us struggling to pay for all of those staying home with the Promise of more of the same to come in January.
