“We need someone who breathes fire on Healthcare repeal for 2012, Romneys past in regards to healthcare in Mass. will make him unable to attack on that issue to the extent that is needed, he will be hamstrung by his past record on Romneycare.”

If Romney wants to have any chance at 2012 he will have to not only distance himself from Romneycare but come out “breathing fire” to repeal Obamacare.

So that's exactly what he will do. He will also position himself against homosexual rights to appease the social conservatives. Those supporting another candidate will scream FLIP FLOPPER but it will not strike pay dirt...politicians have “epiphanies” all the time and will run on their current platforms.

These comments aren't in support of Romney, just political prognostication. Those banking on using these two issues to derail Romney will need to plan an alternative course.

A politician can move some, but no one can have an entire series of immediate, brain sroke like epiphanies like Mitt Romney and get away with.

Mitt Romney:"One issue I want to clarify concerns President Clinton’s “don’t ask, don’t tell, don’t pursue” military policy. I believe that the Clinton compromise was a step in the right direction. I am also convinced that it is the first of a number of steps that will ultimately lead to gays and lesbians being able to serve openly and honestly in our nation’s military. That goal will only be reached when preventing discrimination against gays and lesbians is a mainstream concern, which is a goal we share."

Mitt Romney: "I was an independent during the time of Reagan-Bush. I'm not trying to return to Reagan-Bush."

Mitt Romney: "I'm not a partisan politician. My hope is that, after this election, it will be the moderates of both parties who will control the Senate, not the Jesse Helmses."

Mitt Romney:"These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense," "They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people."

I can just see the debates between Obama and Romney now.. Romney pretends to be against healthcare and fakes “breathing fire” about the issue... and then Obama just points out over and over again, that national healthcare is almost exactly the same as Romneycare... Then they get in argument after argument over the fine differences... and at exactly that point, Romney loses the election.
