This falls into the “too good to be true” category. I hope I’m wrong.

You know as well as I that if this pans out to be true, its only a means to an ends. It appears to me that they prematurely announced the construction of this mosque and along with Obama’s slip of the tongue, this little islamic victory party is being delayed until the political heat has blown over.

“By moving the Mosque they remove the issue”.
Well, that’s what they think.
It has only gotten this far because they’ve controlled the
terms of the argument, and set the parameters of discourse
on the issue. The proposal of putting ‘Cordoba House’ so close to Ground Zero should have been hooted off the stage a thousand times more loudly than it was: NOW the issue is cast in a more ‘reasonable’ mode, namely, “put it somewhere else”. This to me is equally unacceptable, and from what I’ve heard, is also unacceptable to Imam Rauf.
The NEW issue, going forward, will be to battle the same kind of Islamic Center being built ANYWHERE in New York.Knowing what the original designs for Cordoba House were, why would a new location be any different, except for the ‘loss’ of the overpowering symbolism of putting it at Ground Zero? I can assure you of ONE THING, and that is that this Mosque will NEVER be built at the proposed site:
I live very close to NYC in New Jersey, and this issue is
becoming CENTRAL to everyone running for offices high and low in New York City and New York State.
The problem is, we’ve allowed them to frame the argument thus far-——will we have the nerve to take it to a higher level, and set our OWN terms for this unfortunate and entirely unnecessary “dialogue” with Islam?

Obama said “Look guys, back off on this until the fools vote for me again in 2012 then you can have the 911 site itself ...”

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Appeasement?

Or (if true) is it:

— we don’t actually own the property
— our funders really are terrorists
— we’ve been smoked out on this one
— Obama asked us to lay off
— let’s ACT like we are sympathetic

When I see it I’ll believe it

meanwhile where is the 9/11 dedication site?

Why has it not been made a National Monument like Pearl harbor’s USS Arizona?

Our leaders are all screwed up on priorities and PC.

This is only because the imam is having trouble raising $100 million overseas for something that may never materialize — even with the State Department paving his way. PLUS, it’s because this issue is KILLING the Democrats. Notice the polls. For the first time ever, GOP is at 50 percent in Gallup and the gap above EMS is at the biggest EVER. PERIOD. I wouldn’t be surprised if Obama is behind this, if it is true.

“He is a distinguished Muslim cleric,” said State Department Spokesman P.J. Crowley. “We do have a program whereby, through our Educational and Cultural Affairs Bureau here at the State Department, we send people from Muslim communities here in this country around the world to help people overseas understand our society and the role of religion within our society.”
IF Republicans have any guts they will ram this down Dem throats in October and thus reap a landslide victory in November.

Big, big, big, big, big, big IF... I know.
