Cruise Ship Brawl Gets 10 People Thrown Off

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. -- A large fight broke out late last week on a cruise ship based out of Port Canaveral and the captain of the Carnival Dream ended up throwing ten passengers off the ship. They were left in Costa Maya, Mexico.

Carnival says they made arrangements for the ten people thrown off the ship to get home, along with an 11th person that was part of their party; they do not face any charges.

What prompted the brawl is still not clear. While the Carnival Dream was sailing between Belize and Costa Maya, the brawl broke out. Ron Peczinka of St. Cloud said he woke up in his cabin to the sound of people running down the hallways.

“My friend's cabin, they knocked on his door and told him to lock his door, not to come out in the hallway until, you know, until morning,” Peczinka said.

The next morning, Peczinka said he noticed picture frames in a ship gallery shattered and security officers positioned in more visible locations throughout the ship.

“I'd sailed on other ships before, and there was never anything like this that happened on another ship. I think it's disgraceful that they allowed something like this to happen,” he said.

Much of Carnival’s clientele is...well...not upscale

AKA: riff-raff

Thanks for the info. I had imagined it was the Amish contingent on board.

Carnival, the “Walmart” of cruise lines. You get what you pay for. Economical cruise with a mixture of low rent passengers with all the class of Barack Obama.

I guess the “War on Poverty” has been expanded (again), under the RaceMarxist to include free Caribbean cruise vouchers.

Did you say cruise ship Vacation? Hmmmm......I could use a vacation after my vacation to Martha's Vineyard, as a post-post vacation to my Gulf Coast vacation, from my vacation to Spain, which I needed to wind down from my vacation to Maine, that I took after I was all stressed out from our western vacation to Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and Arizona, which was a break we needed after our holiday vacation and Valentines dinner vacation in Chicago, that was a godsend after our stressful Hawaii Christmas/New Years vacation.

Bring back the plank. That will cut down on these types of disturbances. It’s one thing to get tossed from the ship while in port; quite another while out at sea!

Captain Ned: Is this how men act on a man's ship? Where is your manliness? Fighting on deck is a serious breach on my articles of strict discipline! I'm afraid the guilty party is in for a very severe punishment!

Sailor #1: Captain.. I did indeed take Mr. Spunk's spot. I'm ready to accept my punishment..

First Mate Spunk: Captain! I threw the first blow. If anyone is to be punished, let it be me. I ask only that whatever you do, please don't put me in a tight-fitting Lassie costume and make me eat from a monogrammed dog dish.

Sailor #2: [ entering ] Captain, I encouraged this fight - punish me! Make me wear nipple-pinching clothespins, sir!

Sailor #3: [ entering ] Me, Captain! Punish me!

Captain Ned: Stop! I've heard enough! Your manly admission of guilt is most manful. However, as your Captain, it is I who must bear the full masculine responsibility! And therefore, I will be punished. Spunk! Take me alone! I want a boiling oil rub..

We went on a Carnival cruise about 16 years ago.

When they make those little animals out of towels they put a pair of your sunglasses on them.

My pair is what they used. They were in my purse hidden in a closet.

We also found rolling papers in the overhead bed light and a pair of tennis shoes hanging from the air vent in the room one night after dinner.

People act the fool on those ships.

I’ve only taken one (Princess) and I’m not surprised either.

Cruises are relatively cheap, and tend to be a floating bar for a bunch of rednecks.

That’s exactly how a buddy of mine described his Carnival Cruise experience.

I’ve heard from others that Norwegian is better. Their ships are older and smaller, but their clientele and food are better.

You hear a lot of people rave about the food on cruises, and on ours it wasn’t bad. But it wasn’t “all taht” either.

Sometimes people confuse quanity w/ quality.

Egads, Carnival is awful, but they have really nice pillows. I’ve been on two out of Galveston. 1st was horrific...4 hours late returning to Galveston, dead engine. 2nd was okay at best. I’ve been spoiled on Princess and Royal Caribbean.

Yes, this is what some of my friends have reported to me. I was considering taking a cruise and they advised me to make sure I booked with the very most expensive companies. It's a sad fact that as fares have gone down, a different type of person is much more likely to be on board.

On the low cost cruises many of the passengers are scum of the earth (not my words but my friends). Now the vast majority of people on low cost cruises are good and decent people, but when prices are that low there is no way to filter out the scum bags. Now I have NO direct evidence of this but this is what at least two people have told me about cruises. If you want to take a cruise with good people, book one to Alaska. You will not get the same rowdy 20-30 year olds that look and act like the are trying out for The Jersey Shore.

Well at least they waited until they were in port to throw them off.

If I recall correctly Costa Maya isn't really a port. It's a pier and and a beach and a shopping mall in the middle of nowhere that the cruise lines use to dump people ashore for a day. I'm sure the nearest airport was a ways away.

When the gangstas find out they have been dumped in the middle of nowhere, I just wonder how that inevitable inner city, chip-on-shoulder ‘tude is going to play with the Mexicans.

How about the young women tanning topless on the upper deck.

I saw more fights between couples over that one thing than about anything else on the cruise. Seemed like every male attempted to get a peek.

We won our trip. No way I would have paid for something like that.
