The Labor Department said Thursday that initial claims for jobless benefits rose by 12,000 last week to 500,000, the fourth increase in the past five weeks. Wall Street economists forecast that claims would drop.

>Wall Street economists forecast that claims would drop...

Uh huh -what “Wall Street Economists” predicted that??
I don’t see those people listed here - just a reporters using the term.

and if those are really “economists” then they need to be in the unemployment line.

Of course the unemployment rate will never be reported above 9.5%. Every last person could lose their job and Obama would lie and say it was at 9.5%.

I have heard them blaming businesses for sitting on piles of cash and not creating jobs - as if the reason businesses exist is to provide jobs for people. Libs will never admit their ideas and policies are to blame.

Does this mean the unemployment “rate” will go down, i.e. improve from 9.5% to, say, 9.4%?

Sad to say, that would be a huge improvement in my state-
Michigan's unemployment ticks downward to 13.1 percent

When the economy collapses, when the civil society disappears, when the people demand that somebody “do something,” Hussein will show his hand.

Oh, I’ll change the date after the November elections, but if we win both houses then - by a decent majority - his reign of terror will be greatly curtailed.
