Looking at the photo’s of the early morning, I think the mass of people arrived in antipation of the traffic snarls. It looks like a similar size croud on the live stream. I also heard that the Metro is overwhelmed and many are still enroute.
What I've seen so far on C-span is more like a hijacking of the tea party by Glen Beck than any of the other tea party rallies. It has also sounded more like a revival meeting at times than a presentation of conservative principles.
The tea party movement is supposed to be about we the people, not me the celebrity Glen Beck. I like many of the educational topics and guests on his show and the fact that he usually allows them to speak, but am totally turned off by the high drama and the constant self-promotion. He brings a good sound system (unlike previous rallies), but I prefer the voices of the people and their handmade (very clever) signs to the made-for-tv production quality of what I've seen so far.
Anybody who hangs out with Bill O’Reilly is not a true conservative (in my opinion).
