ABC: Men arrested at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport were preparing terrorist attack

Monday, August 30th, 2010 at 9:23 pm | Monica Lawrence | By Monica Lawrence

AMSTERDAM (BNO NEWS) -- Two men were arrested aboard a United Airlines flight after landing at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport on Monday, ABC News reported.

The network, citing Dutch public prosecutor Ernst Koelman, said the men were arrested at the request of American authorities after the flight landed in Amsterdam. ABC said the men were subsequently charged with "preparation of a terrorist attack."

The two were allowed to board the flight at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago on Sunday night despite security concerns surrounding one of them, officials told ABC News, which identified the men as Ahmed Mohamed Nasser al Soofi, of Detroit, MI, and Hezam al Murisi.

Actually, this makes sense.

It looks like this was a "dry run". The article even says that the TSA believes there were "mock bombs" in their luggage. One of them also did some suspicious things, like checking his baggage on one flight and then actually getting on another one.

The TSA probably gave them a little rope to see if they would incriminate someone their handler or other co-conspirators. As others have suggested, they were probably surrounded by air marshals.

These guys were on a trans-Atlantic flight and they knew exactly where they were landing. So, the US didn't need to arrest them until they might get away -- and the Dutch obliged by doing so.

In all fairness, I would have been really upset if I was on that flight. But, I think I can see why the TSA didn't collar these guys right away.

The TSA morons said that dry runs are okay as long as there are no explosives in the test devices.

Well EEE in our screwed up world currently run by libtards it is racist to think two guys with Arabic sounding names having knives, box cutter, cell phones taped together, a cell phone taped to a Pepto Bismal bottle and watches taped together were planning anything but peaceful actions in an infidel airplane.

These two schmucks shouldn’t have ever been allowed on an airplane and should have waterboarded right there in Birmingham.

It looks like Obama and Bloomberg are trying to hurry up and build some victory mosques soon and appease the muzzies so they won’t blow up any planes over our cities.

You might mean Mennonite. We bought a quilt from some of those folks for a wedding present for my daughter when she was married in Falls Church, VA.

I took my wife ( a then Panamanian, now a proud US citizen) on short vacations, first to Lancaster, PA, next to Gettysburg.

It turns out my last name is common among the Mennonites. That has now launched in our family a search for ancestry.

Maybe they wanted to see who was waiting for them in Schiphol.
As BluH2o wrote, ther was likely an air marshal sitting next to them. The weaponry and bomb parts (no explosives) were in the checked luggage so the gentlemen could not grab the box cutters on the plane and if there was anything actually dangerous to the flight it was surely removed in Alabama.

they have a special section that "stacks" you vertically with just an inch or so clearance to the next "sedated and stacked" pax.
Not unlike the "hotels" that cheap Japanese businessmen use when they have to stay in town overnight.

Nope. I mean ammonites.

Turban shaped shells.

Tentacles everywhere.

Incapable of change.

Primitive.

Should be extinct.
