U.S.: S. Philly High didn't protect Asian students from harassment
Phiadelphia Daily News ^ | 09/02/2010 | DAFNEY TALES

At the threshold of a new school year at South Philadelphia High, Asian community leaders remain hopeful, but skeptical, about what the year will bring, a community organizer said yesterday.

Meanwhile, they applauded a recent finding by the U.S. Department of Justice validating accusations that Asian students had been victimized at the school last year.

"By finding merit in the complaint, the Justice Department reinforces what students and families have been saying for years," Helen Gym, of Asian Americans United, said at a news conference held yesterday to comment on the findings, which have not been released publicly.

"Harassment against Asian students is a severe problem at South Philadelphia High School," Gym said. "It is a problem the school district has failed to address

That WOULD be what the left would try to tell those doing the harassing -

you’re getting bad grades because they’re getting A’s.

This is exactly what Star Parker said she was raised with:
“you’re poor because they’re rich”.

Currently, the upside-down Leftist moral compass is the one being used.

I'll say it, because it's what I do.
The "upside-down leftist moral compass" is based on this world's values, which are derived from the prince thereof.

When handled at a local level public schools can work. Of course you need to remove the union, the feds, and much of the state influence.

More money is not the answer.

“Public School is a diffucult prospect in homegeneous populations. It can only fail in heterogeneous ones like ours.”

It will succeed if we’re all Americans.

That “heterogeny” is due to the left’s insistance on “multiculturalism” (which is nothing more than anti-Americanism and anti-Western culture).

If all students were expected to live up to the standards set by our culture of Judaeo-Christian values,
there wouldn’t be near the problems that they’re seeing.

You can’t change a system without breaking it first.

......If all students were expected to live up to the standards set by our culture of Judaeo-Christian values,.....

The whole point of a liberal society is to abandon rules that bind and shackle behavior. The animism of Africa where it takes a village is preferable to the stuffy chafing of Victorian England and America

You apparently don’t know Philly.

Those damn asian kids have it coming. They go to the same school, live in the same neighborhood, don’t have much money, and maybe speak limited english. Yet they get good grades, don’t do drugs or get in trouble. Most dont even have a police record. How are the old minority groups supposed to react when this new minority shows that all of the excuses used to explain their failure are BS? It makes them feel inferior.

Tough school. I grew up 10 blocks from there. My Dad went there. He sent me to a Catholic school. There has been black on white harassment since “forever.” I guess whites don’t count as no mention was ever made of a problem before. We NEVER went close to the School when they were being dismissed for fear of being attacked. This post is in honor of Glennn Beck and the new paradigm he espouses of telling the truth about reverse racism and not “keeping quiet” any longer.

One of my black friends was part of the regular poker games held at my house.

He was always inviting me to play in another game he frequented in south philly. I never wanted to make the drive, but finally decided to give it a whirl. I brought along another friend from philly who was asian.

I was floored by the way the black players treated my asian buddy. It was unbelievable. To the point that they were talking in mock chinese accents. (though my friend doesn’t even have an accent) We left early, right after the first tournament.

To make matters worse, I won. Usually I’ll stay to give others a chance to get their money back, but I left without even providing an ante for the next round.

What really shocked me was that my black friend didn’t say anything. He just sat there quietly. I stopped the games at my place for a while, and I didn’t invite him back when we started up again.

Unfortunately, the inhabitants of this country are sharply divided on what it actually means to be an American.

Ironically, that is largely due to the teaching they received in the Public Schools and Universities.

And for that I blame the baby boomers because it started on their watch.

I made that mistake once. I had detention in HS and so was dismissed later along with the minorities that were bused in. I was the only white face on a crowded bus. Someone stabbed me in the leg from behind. I never saw them, only the knife sticking out of my leg. Pulled it out, got off, stuck a hankerchief in the hole and limped home. Never told my parents because I didnt want them to know I had detention.

Actually, it started long before the Baby Boomers.

Horace Mann brought the Prussian (code word for Marxist) education model back to the U.S. in the late 19th century.

John Dewey, socialist and co-signer of the Humanist Manifesto, introduced “Progressive Education” in the early 20th century.

Carl Rogers, another humanist, introduced “Affective Education” (aka “values based education”) in the latter 20th century. This was when “self-esteem” replaced “self-respect”. Respect, as you know, is earned. Self-esteem is just a euphemism for narcissism. The current POTUS is a self-esteem narcissist.

All the Asians will be dead? You apparently don’t think much of Asian confrontational abiltites. Me brudder went to school in Philly, but that was years ago.

That must have smelled pretty bad. He dieded in 1859.

Maybe the Asian students were stealing all the good grades the other minority is entitled to receive.

I got a birthday card from my conservative sister and BIL that said:

"Happy Birthday. We made a cake, but the Democrats took it and gave it to someone who wasn't fortunate enough to have a birthday today."

Too bad they don’t mention the small number of black kids in the schools who want to learn but are harassed by the kids who don’t.

It even happens in wealthy areas. Shaker Heights, a fairly wealthy suburb of Cleveland, has black kids from professional families reverting to everything their Doctor father and Lawyer mother overcame. And they will also go after other black kids who want to achieve.

Take these jerks, build a school on 100 acres in the middle of nowhere with 50-foot walls around it. Throw in some tools, seeds, water supply, some wood and nails, a few “How to” books, and a phone and tell them, “Good luck. Call us when you are ready to join civilization.”

It smelled bad no matter exactly which year in the 19th century he introduced the Prussian model.

The Prussian model overtook the Noah Webster model of American Education in the latter half of the 19th century.
