Perhaps the Pubbies should start pointing to our neighbors to the north. Canada didn’t throw $s into stimulus and rode it out and Canada has been coming out of its recession (though perhaps theirs wasn’t as bad as ours):

Canada has more control over banking and mortgages and does not have a mortgage interest tax deduction. All of which helped them not get into the phony derivatives, etc scandal that we have had to weather.
