A Month in the life of George W. Bush (News and many Photos) September 2005
georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/news ^ | September 5, 2010

Posted on 09/05/2010 5:29:14 PM PDT by Kaslin

The month of September 2005 was a very busy month for President Bush after Katrina came on land at the Gulf coast and damaged the area. We see President Bush and First Lady Laura visiting New Orleans and other affected areas in Louisiana and Mississippi to comfort the victims of the hurricane and bring aid
The country lost Chief Justice William Renquist who passed away on September 3, 2005
President Bush nominated Judge Roberts to become the next Chief Supreme Court Justice. On September 29th Justice Roberts was sworn in as the 20th? Supreme Court Chief Justice.
President Bush remembered 9/11 heroes at a Medal of Valor ceremony. He also met with several foreign leaders and addressed the Useless Nations
For the quote of the month I have chosen President Bush’s Remarks which he gave at the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Service on September 16, 2005

Well, it is nice to know that President Bush is still beloved and respected in the heart of “flyover country” where real, patriotic Americans acknowledge what a strong, decisive leader he was.

There’s no way folks living in the left coast and the blue states would even dare to rename their roads or bridges in his honor. They probably think his name would somehow taint or bring bad luck to any passing motorists! ;)

So both of you are already familiar with that bridge in Oklahoma? Great! The next time you’re in the area, maybe you need to take a picture of it! :)

GW is a good man and a true patriot. Too bad he got involved with Colin Powell, Paulsen, Rove and Rice. He would have had a better legacy if he relied more on VP Cheney in the 2nd term.

If you're near a computer, be sure to tune in to watch the live-streaming video of President and Laura Bush unveiling the Freedom Collection for the GWB Institute today at 7pm Eastern Standard Time (4pm on the West Coast). Please watch it if you can, they'll probably repost the video later though.

Here's a good in-depth article that explains more about the Freedom Collection:

Former President George W. Bush to officially launch his institute's 'Freedom Collection'

By Tom Benning / Reporter (Dallas Morning News)

8:45 AM on Wed., Mar. 28, 2012

One of the first goals of George W. Bush's post-presidency will come to fruition Wednesday night, as Bush formally launches the Freedom Collection, an online video archive that highlights the thoughts and words of dissidents and freedom activists from across the world.

Bush, his wife, Laura, and other dignitaries will unveil the collection - and some of the key figures that inspired it - at an invitation-only ceremony at Dallas' Winspear Opera House. But the archive, featuring nearly 60 in-depth interviews, is already live at freedomcollection.org.

And organizers, including the former president himself, are hopeful that the collection will serve both as a reminder to Americans about ongoing struggles across the world and as a guidebook for activists who continue to combat oppression and tyranny.

"We have asked men and women who have inspired others to describe what inspired them," Bush says in an introductory video to the collection. "What ignited the fuse of their outrage and resistance? Why did they accept the difficult calling of a dissident's life?"

You MUST see this Youtube video that was just posted last night. It was recorded by a Syrian dissident who was at the Freedom Collection ceremony. Just prior to the ceremony, President Bush gave a short but powerful message to the anti-government protestors in Syria. Listen to his words, they are loud and clear. There is doubt that he is very much in support of the Syrian protestors who are bravely risking their lives to take on the murderous regime there.

Please take a moment to watch…you won’t be disappointed!

Uh, no. It’s his father, George H.W. Bush who’s endorsing Romney today. I think you got Bush 43 mixed up with 41, he’s completely staying out of the primary race, so don’t worry! :)

Do you still like Dubya? Because he’s different from his father who’s more in line with the old-school establishment.

Yep. I was going to say the same thing so everyone knew.

It's GHWBush who endorsed Romney. No surprise. He's a very different guy than his son.

Thanks everyone for clarifying it’s George Sr. who supports Romney.....but he and Barbara had done that in December so it’s odd they would again make a deal about it...un;ess Romney got no jump then and they thought doing this again might help seal the deal?

Never liked George Sr.......as soon as he started towing the “New World Order” mantra I was done with him....

Glad to hear Dubya isn’t going to announce.....better he remain silent IMO.

Thanks again.

Happy Easter everybody! Hope you’re enjoying a very blessed day today. You will be especially happy to see lots of new pics of President Bush enjoying his fave activities - golfing and watching baseball games!

Here’s GWB with the general manager of the Pine Dunes golf course in Frankston, TX where he played golf on Thursday, April 5th.

President Bush was once again back at the Texas Rangers opening day in Arlington, TX on Friday, April 6. Just prior to the game, he also graciously met with the team members of the Chicago White Sox who were playing against the Rangers.

GWB waves to a fan as he arrives to take his usual front-row seat.

Nolan Ryan and GW have a chat before the start of the game.

That’s Laura wearing the big beaded necklace and baseball cap. She was sitting next to Nolan.

The President and Nolan stand during the seventh inning stretch.

Here’s a link to another photo of the President and Nolan that can’t be posted here because it has a watermark:
