A Month in the life of George W. Bush (News and many Photos) September 2005
georgewbush-whitehouse.archives.gov/news ^ | September 5, 2010

Posted on 09/05/2010 5:29:14 PM PDT by Kaslin

The month of September 2005 was a very busy month for President Bush after Katrina came on land at the Gulf coast and damaged the area. We see President Bush and First Lady Laura visiting New Orleans and other affected areas in Louisiana and Mississippi to comfort the victims of the hurricane and bring aid
The country lost Chief Justice William Renquist who passed away on September 3, 2005
President Bush nominated Judge Roberts to become the next Chief Supreme Court Justice. On September 29th Justice Roberts was sworn in as the 20th? Supreme Court Chief Justice.
President Bush remembered 9/11 heroes at a Medal of Valor ceremony. He also met with several foreign leaders and addressed the Useless Nations
For the quote of the month I have chosen President Bush’s Remarks which he gave at the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Service on September 16, 2005

It’s great to see W outside politics, apparently not giving shiite about it, as it oughta be.

Thanks for the photos! He is always so involved with our Vets. With the golfing, Dubya is just making up for lost time:

***********

Bush stopped playing while in office after an Aug. 19, 2003, truck bombing in Baghdad killed the U.N.’s top official in Iraq. He decided at that time, Bush said, according to The Washington Post, that “it’s just not worth it anymore.”

“Playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal,” Bush said.

Yup, you're right. Ex-presidents like GWB are supposed to stay out of politics and current affairs, unlike certain ones we know of.

You’re very welcome oldteen. Pres. Bush has indeed moved on
from his old life in Washington DC and not looking back on it for sure!

You’re very welcome 21twelve.

Very brilliant and charitable of how President Bush has been able to help our wounded warriors by getting them involved in two of his favorite athletic activities - mountain biking with the annual W100k Warrior bike ride and golfing with the annual Warrior Open tournament.

Love this man’s undying support and commitment with our troops.

Hi everyone, it’s been quiet around here lately so I’ve got new photos to get you informed on what President Bush has been doing these past two weeks...

GWB was in Carmel, California on Monday, Oct 8th to promote the First Tee golf program and was also interviewed on the Golf Channel. From left to right: GW’s longtime friend Brad Freeman, Ryann O’ Toole (LPGA Tour Professional), Arnold Palmer, the President and Brad Shaw.

On Tuesday, Oct. 9th, Pres. Bush spoke at a Deutsche Bank conference in Phoenix. He here is mingling with Arizona Cardinals teammates Jay Feely and Larry Fitzgerald.

Pres. Bush gave a keynote speech at the Aflac convention in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Oct. 17th. These were two of the attendees GW posed with backstage. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

On Thursday (Oct. 19th), Pres. Bush traveled to Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, PA to play a round of golf.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And finally last night, (Saturday, Oct. 21) GW and Laura hosted a dinner at The Westin Park Central Hotel in Dallas. The dinner was held in honor for the guests who participated in the GWB Institute's economic debate earlier in the day.
Awesome to see OUR president still having fun AND helping people!
He is a good man and is sorely missed in DC. I know he doesn’t miss the rat race, though! :)
Thank you SO much for keeping us up-to-date on things, Patty!
Just catching up on all your W photos, pattyvita, got way behind. What a breath of fresh air they are. I’ve been thinking about President Bush a lot these days and how broken hearted he must be over our 4 dead Americans in Benghazi, including our Ambassador and how shabbilly it’s been handled by this White House. No doubt he can’t believe the incompetence of the President and State Department and how they ignored pleas for help. He and Laura must pray for our Country every night—I’m sure most of us do. How Blessed all our troops are to have him still!
