The month of September 2005 was a very busy month for President Bush after Katrina came on land at the Gulf coast and damaged the area. We see President Bush and First Lady Laura visiting New Orleans and other affected areas in Louisiana and Mississippi to comfort the victims of the hurricane and bring aid
The country lost Chief Justice William Renquist who passed away on September 3, 2005
President Bush nominated Judge Roberts to become the next Chief Supreme Court Justice. On September 29th Justice Roberts was sworn in as the 20th? Supreme Court Chief Justice.
President Bush remembered 9/11 heroes at a Medal of Valor ceremony. He also met with several foreign leaders and addressed the Useless Nations
For the quote of the month I have chosen President Bush’s Remarks which he gave at the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance Service on September 16, 2005

That was really SPECIAL! #43 was driving the
golf cart onto the field with #41, and the
smiles and pride were just swelling and beaming
from them both.

The crowd gave an extended show of support and
clapping.

#41 was helped out of the cart, cane in hand,
by Nolan Ryan .. and then the Baseball Kid #43
stepped over and threw to the catcher, Nolan
Ryan.

Poor #41, his mobility is really limited.

#43 put his arm around dear Dad, and they just
beamed.

Don’t know if it was a strike yet.

God bless them both .. it’s truly historic =
2 living Presidents .. father and son.

That was great.

Nolan: "You want me behind the plate?"

W: (laughing) "Yeah go ahead!"

I liked the ride to the mound more than the pitch itself.

###

George W. Bush is ready for his book fair debut.

The 43rd president of the U.S. will open the 27th edition of Miami Book Fair International at 4 p.m. Nov. 14 to speak about his upcoming memoir, Decision Points (Crown, $35).

Bush’s appearance ``speaks to the prestige we’ve been able to garner all these years,’’ said Alina Interián, executive director of the Florida Center for the Literary Arts.

Tickets are $40 and include an autographed copy of the book, which reportedly covers the Bush presidency from the 2000 election and beyond to 9/11, the launching of the Iraq war, Hurricane Katrina and the financial crisis.

I loved that Barbara Bush was taking pictures. Such a normal thing to do.

I think they are all having a great time.

Now I see them behind home plate and it looks like they are eating' peanuts....see, normal!!
