Posted on 09/06/2010 2:36:00 AM PDT by NautiNurse

Tropical Storm Hermine has formed in the Bay of Campeche. The small system is slowly moving North at 8 mph. Widespread deep tropical moisture over the southwest Gulf of Mexico and the Bay of Campeche will combine with TS Hermine across the southwest Gulf of Mexico to increase the possibility of heavy rainfall over the lower Rio Grande Valley and deep south Texas Monday through Wednesday. Hermine is the eighth tropical storm of the 2010 season.

Looks like a wet day tomorrow in San Antonio. Glad to have the rain - just hope this thing clears out and doesn’t park itself here.

Same on the coast. I remember a TS named Charlie a couple of years ago that produced a little too much water, 500 yr. floods in some places.

Thanks for the update. Hermine needs to keep moving along now. No dilly dallying.

The biggest impacts from #hermine will be post landfall including FLOODING & SEVERE WX and yes TORNADOES. North TX is primed for both.

Lost a limb here in Aransas Pass. Storm is pretty close to being due west of us but at present we only have wind. We got about 2” of rain last night but not sure how the rain gauge picks up all the rain when it is going by sideways.

Looking at the radar, we look to be clear for a while. Have to head to Houston later this morning. Not looking forward to the drive.

Radar shows the eye midway between CC and Laredo moving pretty much due north. Should clear the rain here by noon, other that the intermittent showers that will continue for several days.
Winds minimal.

Now, the rest of the state is about to get soaked.

Lost one limb and one gate. Ditches are full, so 3-4”???

Houston maybe OK if you time it right between the bands. :)

Keep your head down!

Cells are starting to gin up in the Gulf again and we were beginning to have dry spots in the streets.

Two days late. Other than that, this storm is named Hermine. The Harry Potter character is Hermione Granger.
