The GE bulbs I’ve been seeing are stamped Mexico and don’t seem to last like they used to.

Just checked my stash of GE Incandescents. They were "Made in China" by "GE Lighting(China)Co. LTD."

Looks like the CFL's may have had nothing to do with the plant shutting down.

This has nothing to do with CFL's vs incandescants. It has everything to do with allowing our manufacturing base along with its infrastructure flee our country for cheap labor AND less stringent eco standards imposed on manufacturing.

It has EVERYTHING to do with the plant shutting down, and many others. Around 35,000 jobs have been lost to this idiotic nonsense, and I know some of these folks.

No attorney in America is going to sign off on using Mercury in the workplace. And breaking one of these things requires a HAZMAT response, if you are following EPA regs properly.
