IMHO I think Jews and Christians actually have a lot in common because these are two groups that are constantly being trivialized, ridiculed and demonized.

They do, but too many Jews associate evangelical christianity with nazism. It’s completely illogical, but they do it nonetheless.
Many are allies but the reformation did nothing for Jews, nor did the Inquisition or the Crusades. Moving up to present day there are still a lot of Christian churches that believe in replacement theology, or worse the emergent church( drop to Jan 2010 for a little display on reckoning with Israel) that really is poisonous for Jews and the country of Israel.
