I don't see how an explosion pops a head off like a cork and the body stays intact.

That's exactly what happened with the explosive collar on the pizza guy a few years ago. That one happened in Michigan, I believe.

An explosive collar makes more sense than a suicide vest in such a circumstance. But the pizza guy’s device was pretty obvious to all who could see him. Such a collar could not be concealed like a vest under a jacket.

I think the pizza guy was in upstate New York.
