NRSC Will Not Support O'Donnell [Update: NRSC now says it will support O'Donnell]

Full statement by John Cornyn, head of the NRSC:

“Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee – and I personally as the committee's chairman – strongly stand by all of our Republican nominees, including Christine O'Donnell in Delaware.

“I reached out to Christine this morning, and as I have conveyed to all of our nominees, I offered her my personal congratulations and let her know that she has our support. This support includes a check for $42,000 – the maximum allowable donation that we have provided to all of our nominees – which the NRSC will send to her campaign today.

“We remain committed to holding Democrat nominee New Castle County Executive Chris Coons accountable this November, as we inform voters about his record of driving his county to the brink of bankruptcy and supporting his party's reckless spending policies in Washington.

“In the weeks ahead, we will decide where to best allocate additional financial resources among the large number of competitive races at stake this November. While it's not in Republicans' interest to advertise our spending strategy to our opponents, it's worth noting that just yesterday, the NRSC's first independent expenditure ad aired in support of Dr. Rand Paul's campaign in Kentucky, where we firmly believe that he will win in November.

“It remains to be seen whether national Democrats will provide a similar level of support for many of their nominees, including in key battleground states like Indiana, Ohio, Florida, Arkansas, Illinois, and New Hampshire, among others. The Democrats' indecision reflects the fact that Republicans are on offense in at least 12 Democrat-held states and we are leading in the polls in seven of those 12 states.

“Finally, on the matter of the New Hampshire Senate race, while the results remain outstanding, we continue to monitor the Republican primary race, and we stand ready to fully support whichever candidate is chosen as the nominee.”

The Goal

The Ruling Class see’s the Tea Party as real threat now.

It’s now confirmed. The RINO’s and RATS will try to stop this revolution, because it’s a real threat.

Remember our enemy is not all Republicans but RINOs. Look through the label and support those Republicans who get it. If we can show them that we can tell the difference we will make them fear us even more.

The contributions from fly-over country will dry up overnight. They are obviously much more interested in protecting their seat in “the club” than protecting what is best for America.

The GOP lost me when they permitted an open primary in Arizona to protect mccain by letting leftists crossover and vote for him.

This is exactly what happened.

I have no love for the NRSC, don’t get me wrong. I’m just pointing out where she stands in the statewide race, that’s all. I like her and would vote for her, but I’m not in DE.

I dont care what her chances are you as a Republican should NOT give ammunition to the other side. They have been doing it for the last 3 weeks. Shame on them and just shows their colors. Its not about whats right its about if they get a leadership. Damn them.

I am sick of the A-holes serving us Shiite sandwiches!

I still have money and can buy a decent meal but I can’t get a decent candidate?

If they wanted to implode - So let it be written, So let it be done.

Earlier this year, I registered as a Republican for the first time in my life ever....If this stands, I will go back to Independent, and NEVER do a thing for the Republican party ever again.

Problem with that here in my state is that we couldn't vote in the primaries. That little bit of an edge is needed, otherwise I'd be doing the same thing.

This could really end up working in her favor! She can claim the "establishment" was upset that someone might actually represent the people of Delaware and they are going to punish Delaware republicans and get the Delaware independents to knuckle under as well.

Americans HATE being told what to do.

The NSRC is finished. Bet on it! By 2012 politics in America will have undergone an incredible metamorphosis. The last nail in the Republican heirarchy’s coffin will be the announcement of a Tea Party convention to name a candidate for President of the United States.

I will say... I hope she wins, but it could be a pyrrhic victory of sorts. O’Donnell gives the best chance for the Dems to hold the seat.

Castle was a democrat candidate...just the right wing of the DNC running with an (R) after his name.
