According to her own court filing, she laid awake every night for months after her firing reliving the incident in her head until her mother and sister persuaded her to seek psychiatric treatment. She was 34 years old at the time.

I see nothing to be ashamed of in this particular statement. I know strong people who have gone through a traumatic work incident who sought help for a destroyed self-esteem and confidence level. This includes people in their 30's and people making 6 figures. So, things such as this do exist.

On the other hand, this is something that can be embellished as well but, I won't impune all the real instances because of some extortionists.

This is a general statement not based on reading O'Donnells particular suit.

Sorry, a strong person by definition does not behave that way.

While I've never been fired for cause like O'Donnell was, I've lost a job in this downturn and spent 11 months pounding the pavement before finding a new position. It's humiliating and stressful, but when you have a wife and children to support you can't lie around in bed whining like a toddler or jawing with a shrink.

A little mental toughness, for goodness' sake.

And honestly, if any Democrat was running with a "resume" like O'Donnell's, that individual would be one of the main figures of fun on this forum. This is going to come back and bite us.
