Police say a North Carolina pizza restaurant worker being herded toward a cooler pulled a gun and shot and killed two robbers.
Multiple media outlets reported today that police were searching for a third man who got away from an east Charlotte Pizza Hut restaurant.
Authorities say the robbers burst through the restaurant's front door late Monday as two workers were cleaning up in the back.
Investigators say the suspects ordered the two employees into a walk-in cooler, then started beating one of the men. The other employee pulled a handgun and opened fire.

2/3 happy ending.
I have to wonder if Pizza Hut will fire the worker for doing this or for carrying a gun.
Although it would’t be my last dollar, I’m betting the hero gets fired.
same. Employers are as8holes
I wonder if east Charlotte is some kind of neighborhood where it’s especially useful to carry a gun for self-protection.
If he does, he should sue Pizza Hut. This will make those pesky robbers think twice, though. I think he’s a hero.
Interesting, the story says investigators found TWO handguns near the suspects. Does this imply that the suspects had guns or what?
Read the comments following the article. Very supportive.
Pizza Hut would rather deal with families of dead employees than lawsuits from criminals. The guy will definitely get fired.
“Im betting the hero gets fired.”
I am hoping not. This is not a situation where the clerk opened fire as soon as the perps demanded money, or chased them down after the robbery. Here they were beating one clerk and herding them towards the cooler which, to me, can be reasonably interpreted as life-threatening acts. Yes, it might fire the guy for even possessing a firearm but it would be extremely stupid in a public relations way. I, for one, would boycott the business if they did.
Good shooting, Citizen. Civilization thanks you.
Blame it on the Democrat loving trial lawyers.
Yes. I’m not so sure the employer will be against this, so long as the employee was lawfully carrying a concealed weapon. I think the days may be gone when a person in this situation is NOT supported in defending himself and others.
At least I hope so.
And the employee has the right to defend himself and others regardless of how he happened to have the gun.

These days, it’s useful to carry a weapon in all communities, not just the traditionally depressed (and therefore crime-ridden) neighborhoods.
Pizza Hut will never see me again if they fire the employee.
Another article I read said the employee who shot the guys had a “law enforcement background”. Said he may have wounded the third guy.
