NY 29 is vacant...Eric Massa. No vote to replace him until Nov 2.

Anytime the vote is 1 shy in the U.S. Congress it is a fixed vote. Those who voted against adjournment followed the advise of their leader, Pelousi —
In essence, which was:
Vote nay on adjournment and campaign on the fact that you wanted the House to stay in session so as to vote to retain the Bush Tax Cuts - it will look good with the voters.

Kudos to Speaker-in-Waiting Boehner for pinning those jerks to the wall.

More, please.

Every democrat in our state (VA) who is down in the polls voted NO on adjournment, while the one in a tight race who is currently UP slightly in the polls voted YES.

I’m sure if they could have afforded another vote, he would have voted no as well.

It’s too bad they couldn’t have gotten to where one or two of these congresscritters needed to vote Yes for pelosi — I’m sure they will all use their “NO” vote to proclaim their “independence”.

My argument is that so long as they voted for Pelosi, it’s their fault.

Altmire is doing his best to try and convince us that he is the second coming of Barry Goldwater

His record is definatly a mixed one, but reflects his district as much as anything. If he voted for gun control for instance, he'd might as well retire right then and there.

My major sticking point with the guy is that when push comes to shove, he will roll over for Pelosi and the Commie-rat leadership.

So those are the ones who were allowed to vote no so that they could claim to their district that they wanted to stay and extend the tax cuts? I hope their voters see through that.

So the Pubbies obvious campaign line is “See, you can’t trust or expect the Dems to extend these tax cuts, otherwise they would have done so — so the only way you’re going to get them is to vote Republican”.

This Congress didn’t even pass a budget!

I don't see much on this anymore But I think Sept 30 is when the current budget ends.

“A democratic State will decline from a lowering of its potential, that is of its ever-ready energy to act in a crisis, to correct and to control its servants in common times, to watch them narrowly and suspect them at all times … further fail from the lack of civic aptitude… they deliberately elect to leave the mass of citizens incompetent and irresponsible for generations, so that, when any more strain is upon them, they look at once for some men other than themselves to relieve them, and are incapable of corporate action upon their own account.”
H. Belloc

Just a thought.

Someone said Steny Hoyer’s seat might be in play in MD. I would love to see him thrown out too.

The huge and expensive National Archives II building on the UMd campus in College Park, MD is named after that scum bag. I worked there for three years and cringed every morning I walked in and saw his name high up on the wall in the main concourse.

They need to rename that place because he does not deserve the honor.

Very interesting, thank you.

Count them!

8 Republicans

6 democrats.

The vote lost by 1.

The Republicans could have won it!

It must be a tuff situation for those Democrats who are in vulnerable races to go against their liberal values and the wishes of der Fuhrer knowing that if they do vote against it, they will hear it from the people.

Here are some crocodile tears for those Democrats who are between a rock and a hard place on this vote.....

Mine too. I gave up on her about a year ago. She is a disaster and has been nothing more than a puglouzy vote. She is toast and is a definite one termer. Stivers will easily win the seat he was cheated out of two years ago. So goes Ohio, so goes the nation....
