Another factor is that Gliese 581 is a red dwarf star with an estimated mass a third of that of the Sun. It’s light is weak and it’s heat output weak compared to the sun.

Exactly. There are literally hundreds or thousands of questions that would need to be answered before making any assumptions about life there.

I’m gonna go with maybe, maybe not.

Assume life can exist on other planets. Considering the age of the universe and the time it would take for life to ‘develop’. What would the chances be this life would find us in the vastness of the universe right now.
