Russia's Weapons Deal: Not Dead (still dealing w/Iran)

Last week, the Kremlin announced that Russian president Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree banning delivery of its advanced S-300 air defense system to Iran. For years, Iran watchers have followed Russia’s 2007 contract to deliver the system to Iran closely, given the S-300’s potential to upend the regional status quo. The highly capable system can defend sites against attack by a range of platforms, including aircraft and ballistic missiles.

Of course the Soviets are gonna sell weapons to the enemies of Western Civilization because,in spite of what they (and others) might claim,*they* are enemies of Western Civilization.The only important difference between the USSR of the 60’s and today's USSR is that,today,they have lots and lots of oil and gas.

They have every reason to be threatened by Iran, though. Perhaps they sell them fighters with a Stuxnet like virus...Planes go up in the air, but then weapons don’t fire or the avionics fail...

You have to remember how sneaky the Russians can be too...

Besides, it took a little more to stop them than just Moose and Squirrel.
