Paladino needs to show up anyway and make a point of what a coward Cuomo is and that he will not debate because he has no record and positions to stand on. Paladino can still show up and voice his own positions and highlight the fact. I see Cuomo as avoiding this and this will become a big issue to show the incompetence of Cuomo.

This is an excellent idea, and a win for Paladino, either way.

I wonder when the son of Mario the Pius will figure its time to start his campaign? My guess is that he won’t want to bother with a trip to what he’d most likely think of as being “the sticks.”

It would be great if a local TV station could stream this event.

Please contact me if you’re interested in being added on or taken off the Carl Paladino for Governor ping list. This looks to be a fairly high volume ping list for a while, probably until the election.

The question of the ages.

What a hoot. It's a lose/lose situation for Cuomo.

He can't afford back out and save face. Carl will use that against him, as he already has.

He can't afford to debate him either because Carl is going to hold back on NOTHING.

It indeed will be like the pit bull against the foo-foo chihuahua. (I wish he still had that graphic up on his site.)

Obviously I have no idea whether he will or he won’t, but I do know this: liberals can’t stand a fair fight, and they will do pretty much anything to avoid getting into one.

I guess Cuomo thought an adoring press corps would carry him to victory in a throne borne on their shoulders. Paladino has that quality of being able to talk over their heads, directly to the people. Reagan had that quality too, as I know you are aware.

I like Carl’s goals.

http://paladinoforthepeople.com/about.php

Carl Paladino’s Program for NY

TAXES
New Yorkers are taxed more than any other state in America and Albany makes it worse every year. As Governor, Carl Paladino will cut taxes by ten percent in the first six months of his administration. And to keep taxes low long after he’s gone home, Carl will change the law and require a super majority vote of both Houses - 60% - for the State Legislature to raise our taxes.

SPENDING
Spending is far too high in Albany because the ruling class is out of control. A successful businessman, Carl Paladino will cut state spending by 20% in his first year as Governor. He will evaluate every department and agency of state government for efficiency, effectiveness and necessity - and cut programs not directly benefiting the taxpayer.

JOBS
New York lost 247,000 private sector jobs last year but Albany has done nothing about it – except hire more bureaucrats. Carl Paladino knows only cutting spending and taxes creates jobs. He’ll give New York manufacturers a tax holiday to reinvest profits and create good paying jobs. A Paladino administration would be pro-business - keeping companies in New York and attracting new ones.

MEDICAID
Today, non-New Yorkers ride the backs of our taxpayers; they move here and lay down on our welfare rolls immediately. No longer. As Governor Carl Paladino will require a minimum one-year residency in New York before someone is eligible for Medicaid and welfare benefits. And he’ll cut wasteful Medicaid options that make ours the most expensive in the nation – and save New Yorkers $10 billion annually.

REFORM
As Governor, Carl Paladino will turn Albany upside down and reform the Legislature. That means 8-year term limits for state and local elected officials. No more full-time pensions and lifetime health care for our part-time Legislators. No more automatic pay raises; legislators will vote to raise their pay and face the taxpayers. And Carl will require FULL disclosure from ALL Legislators of ALL incomes to end ALL conflicts of interest.

CARL PALADINO FOR GOVERNOR OF NEW YORK

I guess Cuomo thought an adoring press corps would carry him to victory in a throne borne on their shoulders.

If Lazio was running, that'd have been a safe bet.

Paladino really shook things up when he got onto the Republican ticket for the primary and mopped the floor with Lazio.

It was the beginning of the end for Cuomo. I think he was really blindsided by that one. And it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.......

If Koomoe accepts, Carl will eat his lunch. In case Koomoe bails, Carl needs to have a cardboard cutout of the Prince and have the ‘debate’ anyway. Either way, Carl WINS. C-SPAN needs to cover it for a nationwide audience. This will be most entertaining.

That’s a great idea. I will have to see if we can get one made. I would hate to have a life size Cuomo in the car with me, I really would.

Today's Buffalo News, New York State is the only state that expanded Medicaid benefits. This, despite the fact that New York is already the most generous Medicaid state in the Union.

We, in Buffalo, know Carl. He's fiesty, but he is a good man. Whatever the rest of the country gets from the recent publicity, Carl is a good man. The country needs to know this.

Dare we hope...C-SPAN! I’d love it. And why not? Paladino was on Hannity today. Both the radio show and TV. Paladino is national.

I know Carl is a good man. It’s a friend of a friend thing.

I love his plan to rein in welfare. I lived in a welfare town and saw the welfare abuse. It’s just disgusting beyond words.

If he could simply pull that in some, he’d be making a big step in cutting costs.

The other thing is, all the welfare people don’t bother with doctors. When they’re sick, like with a cold or sore throat, or a toothache, they head off to the ER to get it taken care of. I’ve seen that with my own eyes while there for a real emergency with my kids.

What I think would be a good idea is urgent care clinics be utilized and used first. They can triage the walk-in cases and determine if it’s really an emergency.

No going to the ER in a nice ambulance ride for non-emergency purposes. And those welfare cheats know how to scam the system.

I would really like to see welfare but to bare bones, but since it’s not likely to happen, cutting back on just generic food stamps and giving out more WIC kind of things would be better. If you want food stamps, they are given only for REAL food and must be connected with nutrition classes. No junk food, no soda, no candy, no lobster and shrimp to be bought with food stamps. Meat, dairy, fruits, vegetables and bread/pasta only.

And mandatory drug testing and workfare. For all the people who complain about increasing government interference, I don’t have a problem with all that. You want handouts from the government, it’s going to cost you. No free ride.

I’ve seen too much welfare money go to booze, cigs, pet food, take out, computers and big screen TV’s.
