CNN’s Rick Sanchez Goes Anti-Semitic (Update: Sanchez Fired)
Pajamas Media ^ | October 1, 2010 | Bryan Preston

Posted on 10/02/2010 4:56:43 AM PDT by Kaslin

CNN anchorman Rick Sanchez went there. The question now is, what will CNN do about it?

Update: CNN has fired Rick Sanchez.

CNN released this statement today:

“Rick Sanchez is no longer with the company. We thank Rick for his years of service and we wish him well.“

They will broadcast CNN Newsroom from 3-5pm for the foreseeable future.

Well, as I mentioned at the end of the post below, CNN had evidently gone into a lockdown mode. Now they’ve done the deed, and on a Friday evening. No need to call me back, fellas.

Well. In the gallery of CNN hairdo Rick Sanchez’s greatest hits, hits which include killing a man while driving under the influence and saying on-air that Iceland is too cold to have volcanoes (seriously), this is the first one that may cost him his career. During an interview with satellite radio host Pete Dominick, Sanchez called Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart a “bigot” and then upped that into a an anti-Semitic smear (and sounding a bit like a different Sanchez).

I’m telling you that everybody who runs CNN is a lot like Stewart, and a lot of people who run all the other networks are a lot like Stewart, and to imply that somehow they, the people in this country who are Jewish, are an oppressed minority? Yeah.

The appeal to “who’s the real oppressed minority” is touching. You’re not oppressed, I’m oppressed! I’m being repressed right here in this chair from which I am paid huge money to read the news to millions thousands of people! Yet both Stewart and Sanchez still manage to eke out a living in this awful, oppressive country.

Sanchez’s real gripe about Stewart is probably Stewart’s calling out Sanchez for being the opposite of brilliant. But the anti-Semitism lacing the remarks?

That’s rank bigotry, period.

CNN has been taking out the trash lately, even letting go of the man most responsible for Pajamas Media’s own name. It looks like the CNN suits need to break out the broom for one more.

Update: I called up CNN and got their PR arm’s voicemail. Putting my crisis communications hat on for a minute, I bet they’re in a little lockdown mode until they can review what Sanchez said, assess the damage, and formulate a game plan. I left my phone number for them to call me back. I’d say the odds of them actually calling me back are less than 1%. They’ll come up with a plan and roll it out whenever and however is most opportune for the network. Say, isn’t this Friday?

Update: Ed Driscoll has audio of Sanchez’s meltdown moment.

So another racist and bigot bites the dust. I’ll pencil that in on my top 10 things to worry about.

I’m sure the bigot can find a job in the King obuma administration. Maybe “Czar in Charge of Running Over White People.”

If Jewish people had not been terribly discriminated against, they would run the world. I have never understood the reason for antisemitism unless it is just pure envy.

Fear of the "Other". Maintaining a cultural identity despite the Diaspora. Refusing to fully integrate.

It was what was needed so as to not disappear as a people.

Usually, when people come to a country, in a few generations, they identify with that host country first. If they don't, suspicions arise, justified or not.

At first, immigrants huddle in ethnic communities, but eventually there is diffusion. The Irish and Italians did not get along in Boston for a long time. Both arrived in large numbers in 1880..the Famine, and Garibaldi's revolution. They competed for jobs. Eventually, they started marrying each other. But among many Jews, marriage outside the group is viewed with horror that threatens the identity of the group and undoes the accomplishment of surviving the Diaspora.

The Jon Stewart video ripping Sanchez is hilarious!

&&&
It is, indeed. Stewart is brilliant, but, it’s a shame he is so bigoted against conservatives. Tragically, many young people view Stewart as a source of political news.

Recently, a nephew of mine posted something about Beck that was based solely on something Stewart had shown. It was a tiny slice of video from Beck’s show in which he yells something like “Mountain Dew and Cheetos”.

Out of context, of course, it is absurd, but that phrase was all that my nephew and his friends saw from that particular Beck show.

Stewart was basically telling all of them that Beck is an idiot, and they accept that as gospel truth (not that any of them know the Gospel, sadly).

I don’t understand this guy at all. Except he is cashing in on the —ez at the end of his name. He is whiter than white. Who is he trying to fool? His people were European—Spaniards that settled Cuba. He is no more ‘hispanic’ than Obama. He is not from the ‘barrio’. He is a lily white dude brought up in a working class family but is acting ‘hispanic’ because he sees it as advantageous at this time. What a friggin’ phoney!

“Too bad CNN doesn’t feel this way about the Jewish...State.”

You’ve got that right! CNN is right up there with Jimmy Carter.

Amen to that. They have continuously contributed the most innovative ideas to all fields of academics, business and medicine. (I'm not stereotyping, just a fact.)and...

If they did run the world it wouldn't be in the state it's in now.

As for me, if they declare war with everyone on earth, I still want to be on THEIR side.

To begin with,I’m Jewish by descent(not practice or belief) and my wife of 40 years is a nonwhite(unlike Sanchez)Hispanic born in the USA who is a little to the right of Glenn Beck.
We have two grandaughters -one half Black and the other half Scotch Irish.
I’m actually sorry we have no Asians or Italians in the family because I have a lot of friends from those backgrounds.
Okay,then-I can’t afford to be a bigot.
I just figure it this way-Sanchez to begin with is a dimwit and a rude scumbag.Left wing also.According to my wife,White Cubans like him don’t much care for people like her.She has White Cubans married into her family and they always looked down on her dad,who is a Mayan Indian from Central America who served in three wars for this country-so did his brother, who went ashore at Omaha Beach before he was even a citizen.
She oughtta know-I’m staying out of it-LOL.
Now my point is that if sanchez really thought he was working for Jews and that they were so bad,how stupid was it to fatmouth himself out of a job? He’s a complete idiot.
BTW-my wife would turn him off if I inadvertently landed on CNN when he was speaking. She hates him.
Stewrat(my name for him)SUCKS.Okay then.
Nice to see them eating each other.
