general pop inmates get out of their cells at 6am and dont have to lock up until 10 pm with a few counts during the day.

What would be better for him would be the Japanese version of Death Row. No contact with anyone, meals sent through a slot in the door. Not knowing when the day arrives, until the cell door opens. I don’t know if they allow any bookd in the cell, however I would leave a Bible (not Koran) in the cell for the opportunity to get truly squared away with his Maker.
