With $2 million boost from GOP, Carly Fiorina launches new TV ad (NRSC actually)

With $2 million boost from GOP, Carly Fiorina launches new TV ad

WASHINGTON -- Trailing Sen. Barbara Boxer in fundraising and in polls, Carly Fiorina's Senate campaign has received a $2 million boost from the national Republican Party and is using the money for a statewide TV ad blaming Boxer for the country's economic woes.

The financial help comes at a critical time for Fiorina, the Republican former CEO of Hewlett-Packard. Recent polls show her trailing the Democratic senator by six to eight percentage points, after the two were locked in a dead heat for most of the summer. Boxer opened the lead shortly after she launched an advertising blitz slamming Fiorina's record at HP.

Lagging Boxer in campaign fundraising, Fiorina has not been able to match the three-term senator on TV. The $2 million infusion from the National Republican Senatorial Committee could help the first-time candidate better compete in that all-important arena.

The joint Fiorina-NRSC ad accuses Boxer of "trillions in reckless, wasteful spending," and "destroying small business, killing jobs, crushing hopes." A somber violin tune plays in the background, with images of a tent city for the homeless and a business holding an emergency liquidation sale.

Technically it's the RINO-lovin' NRSC, not the national GOP, although it's often hard to tell the difference.

Imagine that. Of course she couldn't fundraise (outside of self-funding) during the primary campaign either.

Damnation. Wish the idiots in DC would put some real conservatives in charge of the RNSC, RNC, etc., so we could give to them with confidence. 2 million could be 4 million if they didn’t piss off their fired up base.

California is a very expensive state to run in. It takes megamillions to beat the Dems, who have built up a network of pork and corruption.

I’m still angry that Bush and Rove betrayed Bill Simon, who lost by a very small margin in spite of being deprived of all Republican campaign funding and support.

I suppose it’s a good thing that Fiorina is only semi-conservative, or they wouldn’t be giving her this money. Anything would be better than Boxer, and if we don’t do it now, we’ll never do it.

I just saw the ad. It is great until the candidate appears onscreen and says, “I’m Carly Fiorina....”

Let’s hope Fiorina knocks out Boxer. Of course the RNC sees fit to send Fiorina 2M$. It would be interesting to know how much the RNC is sending Joe Miller, Angle or O’Donnell, conservative candidates in tight races. Bet the numbers are way out of wack.

Watch what they do, not what they say. They want RINOs to win, to make the world safe for global corporate welfare.

The only ad Fiorina need run to win a landslide victory is one 10 second file film clip:

"Do me a favor, could you say 'senator' instead of 'ma'am?' It's just a thing, I worked so hard to get that title, so I'd appreciate it, yes, thank you."

C’mon CCC. We want all Republicans to win in November (except for Mark Kirk in IL). Leave the bitterness of the primaries behind.

Utterly pathetic.

What does it say about a majority of my fellow Californians that this Brooklyn yenta has been our senator for 18 years.

She should be shampooing old ladies hair.

Fiorina has been running an ad with that with Fiorina then saying "She went to Washington to fight for a title? I'll fight for California." Good ad. But it moved the polls only slightly. Most voters are aware of Boxer's statement so it's largely been factored into her poll standing. I think Fiorina needs to focus on the performance of California's economy while Boxer's been Senator and particularly her complicity in starving the Central Valley of water in the EPA's crazed crusade to save a 3 inch fish.

Don't worry, they'll do some polling and see if the $2 million moves the polls. If it does, they'll probably come up with another $2 million for her. I do agree Michael Steele has been a joke and should have been crap canned a year ago.

RNC has just 5 million on hand.

http://www.opensecrets.org/parties/totals.php?cycle=2010&cmte=RNC

Open secrets shows them as having raised 150 million. Now explain that to me? RNC exists to win elections. They raise 150 million and 146 million is spent before the last month of the campaign?

If they double the spend for her, after this polling, they have 1 million on hand for everyone else? I know jack about them and their operations. I know they waste money though, the only times I have seen them is some useless youngin with a laptop doing nothing in a congressional race but sit there for the last week of a campaign.

$42,000... $2,000,000... more or less the same, LOL

If Fiorina loses, these idiots will probably say “See, conservatives can’t win in California.”

Same ol’, same ol’.

I tried to correct my post earlier, but FR was super slow there and timed me out. I post RNC data instead of RNSC which is much more reasonable. 75 million or so raised, 25 million on hand, which makes sense. Mea culpa.
