Yes, well put. It would have been easy if I had held myself up to higher standards when I was young. But my mom resented my dad, and he did not know how to be a father and especially to me, so I picked up my moms resentment of my dad. Anyway, I’m glad to have my little girl dreams validated, even if i missed my chance. I know there is such a thing as a happy family. I’m not crazy. Having a good man sure helps.

I am cool, thank you. That whole tenor is quite appeasing though. Don’t care if is a good man...it is saying don’t question himS Hogwash...any woman worth her salt will question once in a while and have to stand up because even a good man can be off sometimes. And if she makes it too lovely and comfy, well she is probably going to spoil him A lot of good in that piece, but it just left out some important things. A good woman does on occasion test a man too and that makes him stronger, hopefully! What do you want..a submissive wife that makes it so comfy and nice that he becomes soft at home? : )
I don't think you can find anywhere in there where I criticized you, nor did I think you wrote the article, it looked positively 1950s. But I certainly criticized the article.
You asked a question and I answered it. Personally I don't care which parent spends more time at home with the kids, or even better, they can take turns. The one that can provide the best income should be the breadwinner....
My main beef is that your question implies that the family used to be able to live on one income...and that is true....Yes I do miss that.

If you did in fact circle the last point, regarding a wife "knowing her place" and meant that you agree with it, then I would strongly disagree with you on that. It certainly sounds like slavery.

Well, “you have no right to question him”...make everything comfy and speak in soft tones...have the children be quiet????...I love the basic idea of being a loving wife but this guide just is a bit nutty in some respects and I believe it is partly the overly submissive attitude about women that is partly to blame for feminism gone astray.
