Yes, that is the location. Kelly Drive extends from El Camino Real to just past the school where it is crossed by Park Drive.

Our youngest also went to Magnolia in the latter years of elementary and both went to Valley. Carlsbad has exploded in growth. We now have several middle schools and a second high school, La Costa Canyon. I can’t remember if LCC was built back in 96. We have lived here since 1974.

It’s still a beautiful place. Of course the local reaction is, “How could this happen here?” Isn’t that always the case? It shows that sick minds lurk anywhere and everywhere and the world is a dangerous place.

Thank our Lord that the two injured children are going to be okay. Local news and also FNC reported that the parents had contacted police/city staff to let them know the children were doing well.

They were in the process of building La Costa High at around the time we were leaving California.

Carlsbad was a very nice and caring community and I hated leaving. Everyone seemed to know everyone else, which I kinda miss.
