I’m hoping it will speed up abit once they stop sending people down...which should be soon, I hope.

The mine video shows one of the guys with a very large gut. He’s really going have to suck it in to get into the 28” wide capsule.

Well you know if we are seeing the miners and the capsule in the mine those guys in the mine are seeing the reaction on the surface. That is great motivation, reassuring and real Hope!

Because if there is a problem with the first few, those men will be stronger to endure any complications. After they get 4-5 up and have confidence in it the weaker ones will come up....will the boss coming up last for the miners, then a rescue worker.

I have things to say about the differences in presidents of a country....but not right now. Let’s watch all of these gentlemen be safe and with their families.

Any system is MOST likely to fail when it is first used and the probability of failure goes down as the system is used, until it reaches the wear out phase where probability of failure rises again.

I think they wanted to have capable men in the first runs because that would be when they would be more likely to discover a problem with the system. A fit man has a better chance of helping solve the problem, or lower himself back down.

Then once the system has proved itself send the sick and weak while the system is at its most reliable point, and there are fit and strong men at either end, in case of trouble.

Then you send the rescuers up last since they are probably most trained and familiar with the system and are better suited to assist in case there is a problem.

It makes sense if you understand probability of failure of a system versus time in use. This is actually a science and it applies to all systems, be they television sets, rockets, cars, electric razors, garbage trucks, entire factories or mine rescue capsules.

Okay, I can’t take the idiot on Nightline who called us ‘egocentric Americans who want to insert ourselves in this moment’. These people make me sick.

Why are the weaker men the ones coming up in the middle of the order?

I have been wondering why they are sending four paramedics down. Best guess: it takes four to lift a stretcher, and the miners who didn't exercise may be very weak. Thus, they need to get all four down there before they lift the weaker ones.

I noticed that too - there’s no telling how much he already lost on the diet they were on

I’ve been watching this whole operation and it’s pretty amazing! It’s also brought out some celebrities. Besides the President and First Lady of Chile, on the U.S. live coverage, Larry King has Dirty Job’s Mike Rowe on for commentary.

I heard earlier in the day that they were arguing about who would be the last man up, Not because it would be scary, but because it would be an honor.

Thanks so much for answering my question. It’s so common sense now that I know, that I feel very naive asking.

I love Malkin’s article. If it weren’t for the Americans there would be no rescue.

Sure they do.

That is why manufacturers have warranties.

The customer has to get the system (the car) through that early, relatively unreliable part of the curve by using it.

The manufacturer gets it past the MOST unreliable point when they actually drive it off the line.

You’d never know that from the coverage. Pride in your country is something to be ashamed of according to the MSM.

Wow, even the first lady looks so kind hearted. I can’t help but make comparisons, even though I’m trying to focus just on the rescue. I just long for leadership that cares again.

The president and his wife are comforting another woman whose husband is coming up. The emotional level remains very high!!
