The original painting is about 15’ X 40’ on a wall in the Air and Space museum...
My dad was born 8/16/44 and was an Army pilot stationed across from Wiesbaden in Mainz for 6 years in the 70s and 80s (and was stationed elsewhere in Germany in the 60s). I believe they bombed Mainz on that mission, too. Mainz was pretty leveled in the war.
