To you and Veronica, i cannot imagine how you guys must feel. I was a Marine over there in Desert Storm,, and couldn’t believe how good this generation performed there. We were the last of the old cold war style.
This new bunch of Marines continually amaze me. In all candor, they possess a level of skill and professionalism we never dared dream of.
But i am just as dismayed when i see how US politicians and Military brass have utterly betrayed them.
The kids that fought there will truly be appreciated more and more by history, as the years pass. Decades from now, they will be a hallowed part of American history, loyal during an era of treason.
I hope for the sake of our sons and their peer age group veterans, that history plays out in such as way as to validate the importance of what they did there. It seems there is so much political correctness involved in recording “history” these days. My son and his wife are expecting a baby. I envision him someday telling his child about what they did in Iraq and how it made a difference to the world.
