“... United States Justice Department, where I worked, regularly make between $130,000 and $155,000 per year”
...my daughter was making $225,000 base plus $80,000 bonus as a pardner in a DC law firm...she got laid off when the economy tanked last year...so she got on at DOJ @ $155,000...her specialty is anti trust, and she was startled at how the govt lawyers operated at DOJ...examples: her 3rd day on the job, her whole section went down to the break room for a 2 hour baby shower...everybody goes home at 5:30, with no weekend work...a general staff meeting was called to discuss what type Christmas presents should be given to the secretaries.
....working at DOJ is like going half speed compared to a big time K Street firm...because she brought her high level ‘real world’ experiance to DOJ she’s already been given big cases...for her DOJ was a good chaange.
You realize you are paying her salary, don’t you?
