Quinnipiac reconfirms: PA Senate race is tied (Toomey 48, Sestak 46)

If the two internal Democratic polls, the Public Policy Polling survey and the Morning Call/Muhlenberg College tracker weren't enough evidence that the race for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania is tied, Quinnipiac University is out this morning reaffirming it.

Released Friday morning, the poll finds Democrat Joe Sestak and Republican Pat Toomey in a statistical dead heat, separated by just 2 points. Toomey is leading Sestak 48 percent to 46 percent among likely voters.

Note how yesterday when Sestak was up 3, he was in the "lead." Now with Toomey up 2, it's "tied." LOL!

What changed in this race? Is Toomey running ineffective ads? In PA the race can’t be this close or the Phily machine will create a win.

Yeah, right. From Rasmussen:

"Thursday, October 14, 2010

Republican Pat Toomey now holds a 10-point lead over Democratic Congressman Joe Sestak, the widest gap between the candidates since early April in Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senate race."

Did I hear on FNC that Rasmussen has a poll coming out today showing Toomey up 8? Or was that a slip?

There are some polling firms whose names are gonna be mud after this election.

Note to those pollsters: Hope it was worth it...

With the undecided breaking toward Toomey, he has it locked up.

Is this brand new, because RealClearPolitics shows Quinnipiac has Kasich up by 10 points and FOX News/POR-Rasmussen has him up by 6 from a few days ago?!

Quinnipiac is usually better than many, WTF is going on in PA all of a sudden? How does he lose so much so fast?

IMOL, this is the Left calling in their pollsters to “salvage” campaigns they think they can still win. After November 2nd, they’ll claim they forgot to count white voters or some such.

You are right. QP is a solid pollster. I would put them right there with Rasmussen and Survey USA. Mason Dixon too.

My husband and I don’t get it. Sestak has been mostly a no-show, running basically poor ads in which he doesn’t appear. I don’t even think he has campaigned. I haven’t heard anything about him appearing anywhere. Toomey has been running good ads all along in which he does appear. However, I did see a Sestak ad two nights ago which has Toomey saying that he doesn’t agree with abortion rights and he thinks abortion doctors ought to be prosecuted. That will lose him some votes.

Obama and Biden have been in Philly lately. I personally believe that they are using their presence to rev up their “army” to go “find” votes. I have wondered if sympathetic media and pollsters are somehow polling differently to get more Sestak-friendly results that will give cover to the fraud that is definitely going to take place. I really don’t know how these things work.

This is PA. The amount of brain-dead, Dem lever-pulling, union-brainwashed stupidity here is staggering.

We shouldn’t take this race for granted. I’ve been trying to warn fellow FReepers about it for the last few days, but they want to dismiss these latest, close polls as outliers.

Toomey was never up double digits to begin with. And Sestak firmed up his support from Democrats.

Still a small but meaningful edge to Toomey.

You should expect some tightening as we approach Election Day.

If it’s not close, they can’t cheat. Looks like trouble in PA.
