Obama had him fired.
Over the past several months I have seen Juan say things, from time to time, critical and unflattering of Obama. I strongly suspect that the call had already been made and this latest event simply provided cover for the real reason Juan was fired.
If this had been Fox News firing Juan, regardless of the reason, there would be weeping and gnashing of teeth from every part of the left over the blatant racism. But, since NPR is one of their own, they are once again conflicted - just another example of the ever-more-apparent double standard of “We want free speech as long as you say what we agree with.”
Duh, plantation blacks know better than to look at the overseer's squeeze, even IF he has bad taste.
I believe it was a complaint from CAIR that generated the firing.
They can get their new funding from CAIR.
