Since Obama is expected to arrive in the afternoon on November 6, and will travel by road to the Taj Mahal Hotel, the entire stretch from airport to the hotel will be under heavy security.
To ensure fool-proof security, the President’s team has booked the entire the Taj Mahal Hotel, including 570 rooms, all banquets and restaurants. Since his security contingent and staff will comprise a huge number, 125 rooms at Taj President have also been booked, apart from 80 to 90 rooms each in Grand Hyatt and The Oberoi hotels. The NCPA, where the President is expected to meet representatives from the business community, has also been entirely booked.
The officer said, “Obama’s contingent is huge. There are two jumbo jets coming along with Air Force One, which will be flanked by security jets. There will be 30 to 40 secret service agents, who will arrive before him. The President’s convoy has 45 cars, including the Lincoln Continental in which the President travels.”
Since Obama will stay in a hotel that is on sea front, elaborate coastal security arrangements have been made by the US Navy in consonance with the Indian Navy and the Coast Guard. “There will be US naval ships, along with Indian vessels , patrolling the sea till about 330-km from the shore. This is to negate the possibility of a missile being fired from a distance,” the officer said.
The President will be accompanied by his chefs, not because he would not like to savour Indian cuisine, but to ensure his food is not spiked.
Exactly so what's going on that they are going there????? WHo else is arriving besides Bo and our guys? There is far more to this than a Presidential visit. Remember when Bo went to Marthas Vineyard and Michelle met with the Arabs...why for? There's more going on in these visits than they are presented.
But with that in mind then why would this visit occur in the first place...they know this isn’t the wisest move...who set it up and why?
That’s what I want to know...am going to fly over the internet and see what I can find...this smells of a whole lot more than it is being presented.
Close enough to Iran and China..might be, since Bo is a Chicago thug and operates as one, this is his way of parking his butt in thier backyards and sticking his high and mighty nose up at them..... Dangerous games this guy is playing on the world stage.
I think the Clintons’ trip to Africa was as large or larger. More than staff/security, I want to see what ‘friends’ will accompany them.

We also just paid for Obama to fly to Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, etc. to campaign for his losing democrats. The city of Seattle had to spend several hundred thousand dollars for security, etc.
OK, if all of this additional security is because the US President is going to a terrorism site like Mumbai, why does he have to go there? Why can’t he host the Indian delegation in DC, where the security is better???

And when he introduces someone named "Larry Smith" you KNOW I'd have to put "Larry Sinclair" in there instead...
Well...there does seem much at stake in this trip, after discovering that there are arm deals struck by Hillary Cinton to India...$30 Billion Deal..and the likely promise to support India’s bid for a permanent seat at the Un Security Council.
On the other hand and tricky walk, $10 Billion Deal to Pakistan..arms deal. WHich India feels is just giving Pakistan arms to fight them. So the welcome to BO and his brood is not exactly acceptable to the people. Many posts revealed as much...likely why so much security. India is not a safe country overall. Compounded with this arms deal to Pakistan...they are not happy.
However, US claims their aid to Pakistan, as one of the major security issues to fight the Taliban, does not upsurp their commitment to formulate strong ties with India as a “major” alli. Positioning against China as I rather thought would come into play and also against the Islamic threat of “other” Moslem nations. Kashmire is seen by Indians as a Moslem problem...of course.
So the arms deals are what is at the heart of this...and India’s people see the US as “arms dealers” over that of a powerful nation. As well as the high tech and communications network the US is assisting India to set up.
So all this is positioning and armaments intended to tighten the relationship with India which Bush began in 08’. China wasn’t happy then and it’s not happy now about this.
I liked the one who said that Michelles’s visit will be like all others..Bill Gates, Clinton etc. They’ll come in to take pictures, then leave, and we’ll get back to our work. They see it as just another photo shoot. There greatest concern is the interruptions to their business.
Apparently other dignitaries have come and gone from that place so many times that it’s just simply not a big deal..... and that’s the end of the story.

The $10 Billion Aid/Arms Deal to Pakistan is just payoff while we zap indigents on their soil IMO.
However I think history shows that overall Pakistan has been a valuable ally, esp as a base for covert actions (beginning with the U2 flights).
I also believe that behind the scenes at the upper levels of Indian govt., they while not liking it, can understand our motivations posturing and actions and ultimately see us as a valuable ally agree?
Oh definately so...and I think it's a good move on our part...but if anyone screws it up it will be Bo...his understanding of international politics is beyond terrible.
Bush began these ties with India.... and in fact they wanted to honor Bush with some sort of significant one rarely given to any outside their country. They genuinely liked Bush. Bo is not seen in that light and they are hesitant to trust him. Besides apparently Hillary is the one pulling off most of the international deals going down...which means Billy Boy has his hand in it as well.
I liked Mashariff...(Spelling). Strong leader and really was in the tighest spot a leader could be in regards to his own people when he allied with the US. I hear he is going to run again...not sure the people will support him though.

Since this trip obviously gives Obama an opportunity to flee an election embarrassment at home, you give me hope that the teleprompter could provide an embarrassment abroad !! Thanks for the thought !!
