I think the only strategy the dumbcrats have for 2010 is to hold the Senate. They wrote off the House long ago, and the only firewall is the Senate. So they will do everything, and I mean everything, to hold a 51-49 majority. 50/50 won’t due because of the likelihood of a single moderate dumbcrat flipping to repub.
If 50/50, my money would be on Ben Nelson of Nebraska flipping. I used to live in Iowa and Nebraska so I am familiar with Nelson. He was a popular governor that is now hated because of his sellout on 0zer0care and the Cornhusker Kickback. He will never be forgiven for this and will be a #1 target for repubs in 2012. He will lose unless he flips parties. So his choice is flip, or retire. That simple. So the risk is just too great for the dumbcrats to let it go 50/50.
51-49 is their only hope and the will stop at nothing to get it. So I just don’t see the repubs taking the Senate this year.
