Some members of Congress who voted for ObamaCare, and who are now telling us that they realize this legislation has flaws which they intend to correct, are missing the point. This is Administration and apparatchik code-speak for "Add more shit on the pile"..
This election in 5 days is the STOP WORK order on this whole mess. Throw ANY Democrat out, vote for any new TRUE Republican aspirant, and vote out any RINO Republican....

We have a strange man in the White House. It's a rare day that I would accuse Dr. Sowell of understatement! :o)

Sowell punches the center out of the bullseye each and every time.

I wish I had the calm head that he has. I greatly admire Mr. Sowell.

Dr. Sowell neatly capsulizes what's at stake on November 2nd. This election isn't just about who gets to be Speaker of the House or what party has more power but, as Dr. Sowell wrote: "What path this country will take for many years to come". Right now, we're on a path to losing our freedoms to a bunch of wannabe tyrants eager to run our lives, destroy our economy and reduce America to some Euro-weeny socialist state populated by dependents of the all-powerful government. This is not the America any of us want or will roll over and allow socialist tyrants to impose on our great nation. We must remove the cancer that is socialism being administered by congressional Democrats. We can't remove Barack Hussein Obama until 2012, but we can weaken and thwart his Marxist/Alinsky schemes intended to weaken America and destroy the American Dream. Vote on November 2nd - with a vengeance.

It's a rare day that I would accuse Dr. Sowell of understatement!Exactly my thoughts when reading it. I stopped and thought for a moment how I could have worded that much more forcefully but probably a lot less tactfully.

0bamacare was, in fact, everything that Sowell says it was and more. It was not an act of any process of representative government, it was the act of a victorious party celebrating its victory by steamrollering a bill whose contents Pelosi smirked wouldn't even be known until it was passed. This was no act of desperation, it was a blatant abuse of power intended not only to attain the contents of the bill but to rub the opponents' noses in the fact that everything the Dems ever wanted could be passed over their opponents' objections.
What is amusing at this point is anyone on the Left wondering (apparently sincerely) where the anger is coming from. It's coming from people who were deliberately and systematically slapped in the face. The people who did it knew perfectly well what they were doing - need I cite Pelosi's oversized gavel waved in the public's face? The only real surprise is how quickly retribution is coming down.

The only real surprise is how quickly retribution is coming down. Did you ever nail that! I wouldn't have thought in a hundred years that the backlash would take place this quickly. We conservatives were instantly ticked but I full well thought it would take much longer for moderates, I's and a few Dems to come over to our way of thinking for the o'care fiasco.

“History tells us where giving government one arbitrary power after another leads. It is like going into a Venus fly-trap, which is easy to enter and nearly impossible to get out of.”
Even if Republicans control both Houses of Congress, Obama could push much of his agenda through. The lame duck session is not the only problem. He could use the bureaucracy, as he did for Cap and Trade by getting carbon dioxide declared a “pollutant” and therefore subject to regulation.
