Okay, this may be a little naive... but if the NFL does not supply the "entertainment programming” to NBC, why would NBC have to pay them $4 billion. Isn't this nonperformance under their contract?

That was my question too. You can’t tell me the network guys weren’t stupid enough to not cover a contingency like that.
